** There were some accounts on social media mentioning that Stone Saunders might not be solid to UK. I reached out to the family and was told folks are just guessing. Nobody on the outside of the program knows how any of the quarterbacks currently in the room really looked in the spring, in great detail, and that plus the stuff about Stone is just speculation. I was not told they would never reconsider no matter what, but he visited a couple of times this spring and did not confirm they are looking around, at the very least.
** Keon Young is a DB defender Kentucky has a very real chance with. According to Chad Simmons recently he has narrowed his focus to UK, Ole Miss, and UCF. UK's looking at other DB guys but he would definitely be toward the top of the list in terms of the most likely to end with them.
** Robert "RJ" Jones has UK in his top seven. He was going to make a decision this month but pushed that back to take some officials this summer. That would suggest that perhaps UK is not the most likely choice or maybe he's a wait and see guy for them. They're still on his favorites list for now.
** Grand Valley State portal DL Jay'viar Suggs had a top schools list then shook it up and it's now UK, LSU, Wisconsin, and Michigan. He mentioned on social media that he is visiting LSU tomorrow and it's his last visit before he makes his decision. Have heard his visit to UK went very well and the Cats can sell him on real playing time opportunity.
** Iose Epenesa is one of UK's top defensive line prospects but the Illinois native doesn't have the Cats in his official visit plans for now. He will visit Penn State (5/18), Mizzou (6/1), Iowa (6/8), Utah (6/15), and Miami (6/22) officially. That doesn't mean he has eliminated UK, and the Cats have done a good job of building some goodwill early, but remember we're talking about someone in demand, big-time, so a lot of coaches are working hard to build those kinds of relationships.
** UK was in very strong early with 4-star Winton Woods LB Justin Hill. He was as familiar with UK as any school there. But not long ago he narrowed his list to Oregon, USC, Alabama, and Ohio State. Hill will make a decision on July 3rd and it won't be UK. I think under some circumstances UK may have had more of a chance but they did just bring in a ton of linebackers from the class just before his.
** Roswell, Ga., offensive lineman Andrew Stargel will officially visit Kentucky this summer but that's a very tough battle now. I think everybody including UK understands that Ohio State is coming on very strong here. Fortunately for UK they do have a wide net cast. You never know what could happen, maybe OSU takes another guy or two, maybe he gets away from Columbus and others catch his attention. Maybe NIL becomes a factor. But for now they're running strong.
