Yesterday is why he isn't mentioned as a HC candidate. He has 1 or 2 games like this every yr. His soft ass approach just doesn't get the job done.

It’s not just his defensive philosophy, it’s a Stoops trademark and why teams often pick us apart. We try to force the under throw but it doesn’t work very well against teams who can run and then they hit you with play action because the safeties bite. Happened over and over last night and it will happen again. The only real way to neutralize it is with a solid edge rusher and blitzing which we don’t have one or often do the other. The recipe is there for attacking this defense, it’s a “play not to lose mentality” and hope the other team makes more mistakes than you.

Our DB's played SCARED TO DEATH last night and were out of position TOO many times. We couldn't get ANY pressure on the QB because we were VANILLA on all of our blitzes and when we rushed 3, our back 8 couldn't cover because they were AFRAID of getting burnt.

This chicken crap approach against the Big Boys is why we RARELY have a chance.

Van Hiles does an AWESOME job of breaking down the plays on Twitter(X). But he doesn't put the blame on Coach White but says it's the players lack of discipline, which to me is on the coach. Watch his analysis and you will see.
