I still watch this every few months. Jaw dropping play after jaw dropping play.

The highlights don’t show the bad ofcourse. Things before the injuries that maybe kept him from gathering more accolades like attitude, taking plays off on defense, and negative locker room and practice stories.

But i’m not sure there’s ever been a more talented big man in basketball. No one with his combination of finesse and power. He could be given the ball and facilitate from anywhere on the court from the 3 point line and in.

Injuries kept him from being one of the best to play his position. Same for Mashburn.

The Jamal Mashburn who dropped 50 on Pippen in the United Center might have gone on to be a top 5 forward in that decade if he stayed healthy. Plus, I'd always thought Mashburn would have been better utilized at the 4 spot instead of the small forward position.
