Barbee Talks About New Job, Poythress Progress, Willis, UW Loss, Etc.

Excerpt from article:

"On how hard Calipari took that Wisconsin loss, and how long it took him to get over it?“

I doubt he’ll ever get over it. I don’t know if any of us will. It was such a special, historic season, and that one loss doesn’t change that."

That doesn't sound like a coach who's only priority is getting kids drafted in the first round. Of course, we knew that all along.

I really liked what he has to said about Willis, in particular. Sounds like he is very impressed with Willis' work ethic, something that has been challenged by some on this board at times, and that Willis has the capabilities of offering a good deal to the team this year. I have to admit I have had some doubts about how much Willis can contribute at a program like UK but feel very encouraged by what Barbee had to say about him. The opportunity is definitely there for him this year with not so many talented bigs ahead of him so I'm hoping he will take advantage and blossom this season.
