Have seen posted and just heard a poscaster say Andrew Carr has All-SEC potential. Just watched the lengthy highlights included here; and I’d like to discuss!
Key Assumptions:
- Stretch 4 Type
- Hits the 3
- Good all around scorer
- Good rim defender
Key Learnings:
- Plays well in traffic, brings physicality
- High IQ ball control, body control
- Nose for the ball, being in the right place
- Corner 3, put back, has multiple backdown moves- but has a strong preference maybe too strong to go to his left
- Could run the floor better- he clearly can- but elite opportunity to be special doing that (Pitino style, Pope should harp)
- Fundamentally excellent with feet/shoulders square, weight centered, exaggerated gooseneck follow through on 3pters
I see the All-SEC potential, not going on record or anything- but I see how valuable a get Carr is. Cannot wait to see Carr hiding in the corner for clutch 3’s, but will flex like a Warrior when he gives us some clutch physicality in the trees!!
