Jan. 15 - Friends Central; Wynnewood, PA (Philly); SR, 6’9”, F/C - Lost to St. Marks School 57-67, but it really wasn’t that close. They may list him as a center in H. S., but that is because his in on an undersized team. He is a college 3, maybe sometimes 4, with a thin body. This game against St. Marks School was not the game to judge Amile. Other than Amile, Friends Central is short and there was no way they were going to match up against Kaleb Tarczewski (a 7’0” true center headed to Arizona) and Nik Stauskas, 6’5” guard headed to Michigan. Tarczewski is much improved and more physical than he was at the Classic last year. It was impossible for Amile to guard him. St. Marks’ zone gave Amile no space inside and he picked up his 2nd touch foul at 6:31 of the 2nd quarter. I’ve seen Amile play several times before and think he has the long body Cal likes. Apparently Coach K likes him, too, and has attended recent games. Very nice, mannerly kid, but don’t let that make you think he won’t take your head off on the court! Scored 14; 6-14 FG; 0-2 3’s; 2-2 FT; 5 Rebs; 2 Asst; 2 TO’s; 31 mins.
