I’m intrigued to know the difference in verbiage between a 15 year old “white kid” and a 17 year old “African American”

Take your race baiting elsewhere.

You can find countless sociology and language research referencing the topic from the highest levels of education.

Where people are from, social and cultural differences play a huge role in how we communicate and the words we use to describe the same things. It's no different than geographical differences making someone say soda, pop, Coke or toboggan vs hat or water fountain bs bubbler.

It's the same reason why white people are consistently portatayed using words like "golly gee willakers"

There is overlap on both ends of the spectrum but generally speaking there are cultural/regional/tribal differences throughout all languages. It's one of the reasons why people of the same community get called Uncle Toms for not being "black enough" and accused of turning their back on their culture bc much of the vernacular and linguistic differences derives from historical ancestry.

I have no clue if the OP is a troll or not but do you for one second believe if it IS this kid he'd admit to running his mouth, spoiling Zion's moment & ruining any trust/friendship they had? Hell no.. Deny, deny, deny.. I put zero stock in this thread & will assume the OP is a troll but I also wouldn't put something like this past a 15yr old kid.. They do like to gossip

He also wouldn't have the foresight to understand how many major media outlets frequent this board and how him trying to get some cool points on the internet could quickly snowball into a major story. I agree the whole thing was a first class troll job but young kids frequently make dumb mistakes not understanding the consequences of their actions.

Well i mean @zipp and @Steelers2012 may be complete dumb bastards but I feel like they are at least semi intelligent? Eh?

Nah.... you’re prolly right.

Zipp and Steelers in all their glory! (Steelers posted this pic of himself a couple years ago on the main board...) ;)

Technically you would think that all people in the U.S. in the public education system would speak similar enough language with some minor differences. Most others are slang and the reason for race wars are these exact things you posted. Just like people recognizing 50 different types of men and women not by Biology anymore. It is out of hand.

Yes, all me new words from hip hop culture is just slang. That isn't what it's discussing. It's discussing many of the consistently in grammatical differences from standard English (origins in Great Britain) and how this differences stem from ancestry origin. And it generally isn't accepted as an independent language but a dialect w/n English. Just like Appalachian English deriving from Scott Irish or Louisiana having major French influence.

Language development has nothing to do with biology. There are 2 genders and chromosomes exist. Other than some fringe scientists the vast majority of the medical field recognizes that.

I know that I am just saying that let’s say a person comes from a foreign country and learns to speak English. They would sound much more likely to sound “white” vs “African American” in their speaking. I just think grouping of this contributes to racism in itself. An example being an Uncle Tom, when there should be no bias against wanting to be educated or want to speak properly.

Someone coming from a foreign country would learn standard English instead of marinating in cultural influence, so yes. Nobody learns to speak coonass in the school system. That's a derivative of the French influence on English.

And I agree. I don't think the Dr. Ben Carsons of the world should be considered uncle toms for choosing to be educated. But just bc I don't think it should happen doesn't change that it does.

I don't think we disagree. I was just pointing out that there is generally a difference in how teenage white kids vs black kids speak and to keep the local board trolls from crying racism, I used academic findings to support it.

Does anybody know if the score he posted was the actual outcome from tonight??

Of course it was which is exactly why the troll posted it before saying he’s leaving. Next he’ll say “I’m outta here. Just went to eat a burger at McDonald’s with z and he ordered a number 1 combo large size and got back and saw this”. Yet people will then start calling all McDonald’s to see if a 17 year old was there. This has gone too far. Funny at first but now it’s embarrassing that we have people believing him and yet wonder why this fan base especially this board gets criticized so much.

Op has nothing to lose and everything to gain by posting this.
I wish the mods wouldn't allow it though...

Z needs to lose a few lbs.. will Clemson see that he does? No. He'll play either way there. Good luck with that. Seen this before..

His weight will be a major factor in his career that's for sure. I hope he takes his diet in the pros seriously. Most pros do that's why they stay, but his will be a big factor in how productive he is for sure.

Watched him play last night I was thinking how good this kid would be under Cal's coaching and conditioning at UK. Hope he picks UK but if he does not "next up ".

This is one of the more mysterious recruitments in recent history. Everything the media and Zion is putting out now is him trying to misdirect I think. Seems unlikely he truly hasn't decided yet set a decision date. Unless maybe he is torn and set the date to make himself decide so he doesn't have to anguish over it anymore. Terrence Jones truly couldn't decide, this just feels different though, I think he cometh! I actually feel better about our odds now, then I did a week ago. Something just feels right that he will come to UK.

Lmao, I hope you don't honestly believe that.

I'm a realist too so if we don't get him we will be just fine. I think either way we are easily a top 10 team next year maybe top 5 depending on who comes back. (only way we won't be is if we lose 6-7 guys which is unlikely. I think we lose 2-4) So landing Zion IMO just makes us that much better and a favorite to win it all. Either way a title run is coming next year with or without, but I feel like we see him in the Blue and White!

I also think this years team has the pieces for a DEEP run this year, just depends on if they buy in and do what needs to be done or not. If Vanderbilt comes back he adds the depth and a key missing piece we need defensively and in the paint.
