Zen & The Art of Making The Perfect Player; Meet UK's Jamal Murray

Wow! Soon thousands of kids in America and Canada will try to develop that mindset and discipline. He will serve as a great example to many. To have an in-game pulse rate of 34 is unheard of. You know Phil Jackson wants him on the Knicks.

I know this isn't your thing, OP but would you care to give a brief rundown on what you posted in that link that I can not access at work

Love it! Love when we get guys that think outside the box, riddick,wcs,..not your usual amerikkkan meatheads

Sounds like his dad is a nut...
He has raised a young who seems very well adjusted and profetional. My son has goals in life and as it turns out his dreams are something I have experience in. So I am showing him what he needs to do to accomplish them. He sacrifices some social things and is driven on his own. As a 5 year old the current way that most of us Americans raise our kids would have seen him on adderall because he was hyper. Now when I helped him focus on what he was interested in at 16 people who talk to him think he is 25. It was not uncommon when he would talk on the phone or by email to people associated with what he is driven for those people to assume he was a grown up. At 4 years old his preschool teacher told us he needed to be on add medication and by 13 he comes across mature and profetional

Don't buy the 34 in game heart rate. It sounds scientifically, impossible. It's a matter of supply/demand. Muscles need oxygen. I would say it's still a ridiculously low rate, but not 34.

Regardless, he sounds like he is mature beyond his years and that is largely due to good parenting. Very glad he's ours!

I believe the author has made an error in reporting. The 34 bpm is the heart rate at rest and low intensive activity i.e. walking. Because of oxygen and caloric demands of active muscles the heart rate increases to supply the demands. The well-conditioned athlete will have a lower active heart rate than the sedentary individual or even lesser conditioned athlete. It would be really cool to be able to read the real-time heart rate data from his monitor that Cal has them wear.

You have to think with how mentally strong and self-driven he is, we may be in for a show tomorrow night. He was clearly frustrated against NJIT that his shot wasn't falling. It seems like he's the type who will make sure that doesn't happen again, especially on the big stage against Duke. Plus, with being that cold from the floor, he's due. It has me excited to see how he bounces back against the Blue Devils.

Same here.

Between Skal and Murray, we may have the two most skilled players in the country. Going to be a fun year.
