So YouTube tv is raising rates again. Going to $82.99 month starting in January. Are there any other streaming tv recommendations that will ensure I get all the ESPN channels and SEC network? I guess I would for sure need TBS/TNT/Tru TV for March madness. $82.99 is getting a little ridiculous!

I'll be switching to Sling Orange with the Sports Add on. Will be about $25 less per month. No locals, though, but I can get those with an antenna.

If you need the few games that are going to be on TruTV during the first couple of rounds, just re-subscribe to YTTV for a month.

DirecTV Stream is charging me over a $100 per month. I get all the sports channels and HBO/ Cinemax movies plus all the locals. It’s not cheap, and I have been thinking of changing to YouTube. I guess they’re all going up in price just like everything else.

I have to agree with you I have had all the streaming services since getting rid of Dish a few years ago and I have YouTube TV. That's just it really doesn't matter who you switch too they all raise the price all the time.

YoutubeTV offers 25 day free trials. All you need is an email and a credit card. From what I can tell it doesn't do an IP check when granting the trial. Gmail accounts are free😎

I cancel YouTubeTV soon as the basketball season is over. Usually I fire it back up for football but not sure I’m gonna watch the train wreck this coming year yet. We never have time to watch tv during the summer anyways.

As I expected years ago when I first tried to cut the cord, all of these channels we used to get for one price in cable or satellite have broken off into their own streaming services, so if you want a collection of them, we have to pay 2 to 3x what we used to pay for all of them.

I actually find YTTV to be reasonable even with the $10 hike because you get most everything you need channel wise, and it "records" the games you want. I wonder if they're also going to hike the 4K add-on subscription.

We still have a Directv dish on the house but haven't used it in several years. However, if YTTV keeps going up, DTV would love to have us back (although I absolutely HATE their guide / user interface), and I would think they'd do so more cheaply than YTTV.

I got YouTubeTV about 6-7 years ago. Since then it's gone from I think $65 to the soon $83. That is nearly a 30% increase, or about 4-5% per yr. I suppose in-line with inflation (especially considering the inflation for past 2-3 years, maybe even less than).

For me, something about the $100 mark I don't want to go over. But I don't watch movies much, so don't need HBO/Cinemax.

We switched to YouTubetv 2 years ago because Dish & Direct TV do the same. They'll offer a promotion & then it goes sky high. Dish & Direct lost a lot of business the 2-3 years for getting greedy. YouTube TV needs to take note.

Their greed is insatiable. They not only raise prices, but they increase advertisements. Ads in game, ads on uniforms, floors, walls, quick "breaks" if someone is mildly injured, and the ever painful TV timeouts every 4 minutes even if there was a time out seconds ago.

Then you get games on CBS and it's just unbearable with the ads. I'm convinced they have an agreement to add 1-2 minutes to every under 4 timeout, and at least 5 to halftime, especially during March Madness.

Yet they need to charge more in monthly fees. GREED (thanks to our investors first mentality).

ESPN is supposed to have it's own standalone service next year. I will probably go with that for a year or two until they raise that too high. I was going to go with Venu this year until those jerks at FUBO sued them.

Has anyone tried something like the SuperBox S5? I'm looking into it. I think this is what KSR famously hyped as the Louisville Media Box. Which is actualy a business I believe.

I have HULU and it did the same thing after a few months.

I had YouTubeTV and started a free trial of Hulu last night. One thing I can tell I DO NOT like is I tend to pause tons of shows, even basketball games, then come back and fast forward through commercials to catch up. Hulu does not allow that. You have to watch the ads even if you are behind.

I’ve used Sling Orange for years and it works okay. A little buggy occasionally but generally works. It’s a little annoying that the DVR features don’t work with ESPN but I’m guessing that’s a contractual thing and is probably the same for every service, except maybe Dish which has a hardware DVR.

You'd think cable companies would try to capitalize on this mess and lower their prices. I'm sure the avg consumer is paying more then they did with cable now with all the streaming services we use.

The reason people are paying more is that they are too lazy to manage the subscriptions to keep their bills low. And they don't realize they are getting scammed by bundles.

Outside of college football and basketball season, I pay $6 per month for streaming services. And most of that is PBS which is a charitable donation.

I'm cutting the cord except for Prime. I can watch game highlights on YT an hour after the game and I can usually find somebody with a pirate channel streaming the game on YT live.

The way I see it, for $82 I can basically buy two brand new video games from Steam every month if I choose to, and that has more value than having to pay for 250 channels, only 5 of which I actually watch.

Besides, I also have Roku TV free.

The regular YouTube has two Streams of each game free, one asks for Paypal donations the other one is the best and they don't ask for anything

They exist for now, but could get shut down at anytime. I was watching the Ohio St v Indiana football game this year because the local station decided to show girls basketball scrimmages instead and the stream got shut down for violations during the third quarter.

I would not depend on watching our games on YouTube or at some point you're going to miss out.

So in Georgia, I have Fubo, which allows me to get Braves games with an extra charge, which YT does not.
I use this also to share with my college student in MA and it seems to work fairly well.
It is $90 with the sports package, and this will be the first time I haven't disconnected after MLB season.

This price hike is the last straw for me. I have the ESPN+, Hulu, Disney+ bundle so I’ll have all the UK games. I’m going to get Paramount+ and then get PhiloTv for my wife for cable Channels. It’ll end up saving me about 40 bucks in the end.

True. We looked into YTTV but when we checked it out, it didn't include the History channel and the Discovery channel families in our area. That was a no go for us.

Spectrum Select now includes HBO Max, Peacock, Paramount+, Disney+ and ESPN+

Something to consider after Hulu live TV and YouTube TV among others raised rates, and most new Spectrum TV subs can get that sweet promo rate for a year or two.
