Good call. Definitely a pie, and definitely the best one.

Anyone who disagrees is wrong.

Disagree. A real cheesecake which is normally baked in a spring form pan often in a water bath is a TART. It's not a pie or cake. You can call those Sara Lee things anything you want because they are not real cheese cakes.

Oxford University Press describes cheesecake as "a flan or tart filled with curd or cream cheese." Please ignore the part where they claim that most cheesecakes now sold are uncooked — that isn’t relevant to the discussion at hand. In these unsure times, even as anti-intellectualism takes hold in the Western world, we should look toward our institutions for clarity and guidance. Cheesecake is a tart.

My wife recently made a Cheesecake this exact way and it was incredible. She added a twist and put a pineapple upside down cake with it. Believe Cheescake Factory serves something similar. Never thought of Cheesecake and Pineapple upside down together, but it works.

My wife makes a chocolate pie that is made from scratch. The chocolate filling is rich. The meringue is like 6-8” tall.

I hate it. I can’t stand meringue.

I prefer a simpleton pie of store bought graham cracker crust, chocolate pudding, cool whip and chocolate sprinkles.

Damn, man. I'll take her off your hands for ya' if it's that big a deal. (j/k)

Three childhood fav's:

Moon pies
Bama pies
Whoopie pies

Current favs:

Pie!!!

My wife makes the best Coconut Creme pie ever! Graham cracker crust topped with Cool Whip! Delicious! Lucky for me she only makes them for Thanksgiving and Christmas or I'd weigh 300 lbs.

Pecan, Apple, Chocolate, Cherry, I like about any kind of pie! And Strawberry, love strawberry pie, probably 1a with Coconut Creme.

The little individual Transparent pies from Magees bakery in Maysville.

Man I used to crush them when we would go visit my Dads family there when I was a kid.
