Yao Ming dwarfs Kevin Love

Those kind of shots always amaze me.

Yao’s height had nothing to do with sports training.
You mean when the state encouraged/told the tallest men's player and the tallest women's player of their respective national teams to get together had nothing to do with the State's training program after they had been tracking his family for two generations?

Or this,
"He hated the game for a decade. He didn't like it, he wasn't any good at it."

The eight-year-old Yao embarked on a program of intense, repetitive training under disciplinarian coaches who offered little encouragement or variety.

Meanwhile, scientists fed him a steady stream of mysterious concoctions designed to make him taller, raising the spectre of possible hormone treatment at a time when China was suffering a series of doping scandals."

Yao is a serious "what if" story. He'd had multiple foot injuries before even getting to the NBA that hampered him, and then had a rash of injuries just as he was entering his prime (26 years old the first year he started missing 20+ games a year).
