Hey Silents, it's actually Wynyard bro.

My opinion here is that it's possible Ty Wynyard could provide some meaningful minutes this season. He's a big strong body who can move people around inside. He'd be in there for defense and rebounding primarily, but he has some offensive skill too. The big question is whether or not he can contribute right away. I hope he can. I doubt we'll see him for 4 years anyway, so he won't need a redshirt. If he can handle the speed of play, he'll get minutes.

I will also agree that Wynyard likely won't get many minutes if Humphries is better right now. That remains to be seen.

I think we may need him to play this season. Need what Ryan Lemond calls a "big butt guy".
I know yours is the popular point of view, but I just don't see it. Don't mistake inexperience for a lack of depth. This team is already loaded. Even with Briscoe missing the game, did you see how little playing time Mulder got last night? Mike played 2 minutes and got off 1 shot. Labissiere and Humphries are very inexperienced, but they might be the best 5 duo in the country by January. By then, Poythress will be 100%. Lee and Willis have improved. Wynyard still needs to learn the American style of play, and would be way behind all of them by January. The only way Wynyard would play is if Labissiere or Humphries got seriously hurt. It's naive to think Wynyard can step in and become a factor for this team in January. If Calipari wants to do it, it might be good for Wynyard to practice with our team this winter. That should quicken his development. But the only reason to actually burn a year of Wynyard's eligibility is if Calipari is sure that Wynyard is not a 4 year player. If that's what Calipari actually thinks, good enough for me. But that isn't clear yet. Wynyard is very young, new to the Ametican game, and I believe he may need 3-4 years to adapt and develop as a legitimate NBA draft prospect. I would let Wynyard practice, but I would not play him until next year unless Labissiere gets seriously injured like what happened to Nerlens a couple years ago.

I just want to say that I find it sad and a bit comical when fans get the names of players wrong. It's not that hard to get it right.

Or, they could have just been drinking and not paying attention. Who knows. What's even more sad and a bit comical is when you know who he is talking about and have nothing to contribute to the point. Rant over.

To the point, I think it is to early to tell whether or not we would need him this year. If we are weak on the boards as we progress or get banged around a lot then yes, he would help in that area.

or he just mistyped it, or maybe if he was on his phone it autocorrected - the OP is generally spot on.

If he's related to Steve Winwood then I hope he lights up Bruce Hornsby's son...I kid, I kid.

But seriously, maybe he will play. Maybe we will need him some. How the crap do we know yet?

Ty Wynyard may not play this year which is fine. The only way I see him play this year is because of someone getting injured and lets hope that does not happen.
