WSU Coach Wife the talk of the WSU rivals board...

HUGE difference in a regular fan acting like that and the wife of a coach. HUGE
I certainly understand the point you are trying to make, but imo, both are disgusting. Coach's wife OR regular fan.

But yes, someone in her position can not behave in that manner.

OT, but where did the "State" come from after city schools? I know Memphis obviously dropped there, but anyone know how it started?!
These schools are part of the "state system." So the full name on their charter could be: the State University of Morehead, Kentucky. Eventually, they became called "the Morehead State University."

Gotta admit, the videos are pretty lame.

But that's typical. She was misbehaving and then he turns his camera on her and doesn't get the worst behavior.

Shocker fans, desperate to defend her, want to pretend that those videos are everything.

And why would Drew Franklin be working in cahoots with this lady from TVQ?
The NCAA made Drew take down the original video and witnesses last night said she was absolutely revolting, calling Calipari's wife a Bitch and a Whore, insulting UK Players and fans, flashed her titties at the WSU Fans. You don't get a police escort for nothing.A normal fan would have been removed from the premises.

A WSU fan that travels with the team quite a bit last night posted here on RR saying it's normal behavior for her and hubby to be aggresive, threatening, and use bad language everywhere they go.He was embarrassed about her drinking and loud mouth.

But the Shocked fans live in denial.

It's funny, before I became aware of that thread, I had commented in the other Williams thread that I expected one of our fans to say that we would be defending her if she was our coaches' wife.

While I was saying it tongue in cheek, I also know from experience that some of our fans would look for a reason to defend one of our own if a similar situation were to arise. And those that did, would look and sound just as ridiculous as the Witchy-taw fans defending Lynn Williams and trying to blame Drew Franklin and the lady from WTVQ.

I'm not disputing any of this, but such a shame none of "good" stuff was actually recorded by the hundreds of people around her all which were carrying phones.

I bet CBS has it.

I don't think there is an "it." As I understood they made DF delete it off Twitter which he reposted once he left.

Just seems like more should be out there. You can't go take a piss today without someone getting it on video let alone hundreds of people witnessing the college coach's wife all shitfaced and acting like the cash me outside girl.

Our current source material is pretty weak imo. Gotta be more out there.

Some was,the reporters sign an agreement from the NCAA to not show videos, the were in contact with Franklin and Matt Jones of KSR about their video,a woman reporter had a better video somewhere, but was catching hell over it.

So far, I haven't heard anything she said that was as bad as something you'd hear from a West Va fan, or a Red Sox fan, or a Phillies fan, or an IU fan, or etc................ The topics she raised were pants and weight rooms, not anything incendiary like racial heritage. She used the F word, so she was crude. She IS a coach's wife and COULD be held to a higher standard than a regular fan.

However, to crucify her for what she did strikes me as pushing etiquette or political correctness too hard.

It was Wichita University from 1928 through 1963, totally funded by the City of Wichita.

They became party of the State System in 1964 against the wishes of the KU folks (and K-State). There was a discussion about changing the name to the Univ of Southern Kansas.

Other city Universities like Cincy, Louisville and Memphis shifted to state funding at roughly the same time. (maybe Temple too)

Trivia: there are two municipally funded Universities left.

If she really did direct those comments at Ellen Calipari, then she would have been kicked out of the arena had she not been the coaches' wife.

Who is claiming those comments to Cal's wife?I didn't hear Drew mention it.

IMO, there's a world of difference in "pushing political correctness" and merely expecting those who represent your university and state to behave in a tasteful, classy manner that doesn't embarrass those they represent.

As I wrote, I'm not aware of anyhting she said other than the topics of "pants and weight rooms...." I have not heard anything about her yelling at a coach's wife. Are you saying she was yelling about thee coach's wife having ill-fitting pants or needing trips to the weight room? I just don't know what comments from Lynn Marshall you're referring to.

No, I wrote "pushing etiquette...." Yes, etiquette Does refer to "behav[ing] in a tasteful, classy manner that doesn't embarrass those they represent."
I understand that many people desire to return to what they see as the gentler, more gentile and polite behavior of yesteryear. I have no problem with that. In general, I support that notion. My point is simply that the standard behavior observed in many modern sporting venues is far worse than Lynn Marshall displayed. Of course Ms. Marshall is a coach's wife and can be held to a higher standard than a normal fan. Certainly we've all heard arguments that an employee like Gregg Marshall should be held responsible for the actions of a spouse or child. Personally, I don't buy that.. As I see it, Lynn Marshall can do what she wants. So, we are all free to hold her accountable to a higher standard than a regular fan, but what difference does that make?

You wrote, "pushing etiquette or political correctness", right? However, that's really neither here nor there.

You also mentioned in another post above that you aren't aware of any other remarks she made other than "pants and weight rooms" comments. I've read remarks attributed to her (from fans that claim to have been sitting in her vicinity) that are much, much worse. Do I know they are telling the truth? No. But I've seen it from more than one person. What's more, according to a Lexington television reporter, her teenage daughter felt the need to apologize for her stating, "she is drunk".

I also take issue with your premise that the *standard* behavior observed in many modern sporting venues is "far worse". Really?? I mean I understand that it's fairly common to hear cursing, but I've been a season ticket holder in Rupp for years, and I've attended many, many other sporting events in my lifetime. In my experience, it's been way more the exception, rather than the rule, to witness a drunken spectator making such an obnoxious, crude spectacle of themselves that security has to approach them several times, eventually escorting them out.

I do agree that Gregg Marshall might not be responsible for his wife's actions, but it would be naive to think he (or even their kids, for that matter) won't suffer the consequences. You don't think most ADs won't take that into consideration before they seriously contemplate hiring him?

I sure hope Mitch would.

The video that was released wasnt much. It just shows her cheering, leaning over the rail and then getting faint it looks like. I didn't see what the big deal was.

If the stuff about her cussing at Ellen is true that's a different story. But the video doesn't show anything like that.

I saw a video of her lifting her shirt up and down standing backwards in her seat screaming bloody murder and the security guard physically grabbed her and pulled her downward. There's definitely truth to her behavior issues.

And it's definitely going to hurt Marshall for other jobs if he wanted them. Maybe not to the point where he couldn't be hired, but it would be a topic of hire I guarantee you.

No big deal, but you quoted political correctness and then went on to talk about etiquette. You misquoted me, and I corrected it.
I've also seen the quotes from anonymous sources who claim they were there and heard all kinds of things that sources with attribution are not claiming they heard. Sure, it is possible the anonymous sources are telling the truth. However, one has to wonder why other people are covering up for her, like Drew Franklin. If Lynn Marshall were yelling at Calipari and his wife (calling Ellen C. a beatch, whore, and so forth) across the gym floor, I would think everyone would have heard it. IF she did that, I'll also be in favor of tearing her to shreds publicly (right after I hit it). The only facts confirmed right now are that she got drunk and acted like a loud-mouthed, rude fool.
I'm glad that you have not run into many loud-mouthed, rude fans where you go. That's all good.

I think there may be an It. CBS has cameras everywhere. You've seen the inside of a production truck.

Someone at CBS has a camera on this lady (as they did Ellen Calipari), and someone was actively choosing to not show the footage.

Doesn't mean it wasn't recorded.

Read down a few posts from yours. See the other thread. It's not my info.
