Win Shares- Cal PG's

I thought Lamb started against OSU? Been a while but I recall Liggins/Miller/Lamb sharing a lot of minutes, Lamb may have averaged 6th in minutes but I didn’t think of him as a bench guy.

Calipari didn’t seem quite as worried about starting spots and protecting kids’ hearts back then. Helped to have Miller and Liggins as pretty selfless 3 year guys.
Well there wasn’t much of a choice, we only had six guys. Unless you count Vargas and Hood for a few seconds here and there.

I just wonder if nowadays we would’ve ended up having controversies of who should start and Cal would have to say something in a press conference about protecting Darius’ heart.

It seemed back then that winning was more important than exposure for pro ball scouts. It never would’ve occurred to me to wonder whether a bad game from Lamb would impact his draft status.

Win Shares at UK for starting PG's under Cal.

I have been a big proponent of Wheeler over the past year but this is really eye opening to me. I know he has his faults but didn't expect him to be this low.

Shout out to @cornbreadnmilk for prompting me to look into this a bit further.

No clue if there is fuel to the fire about UK looking at another PG, but this could be the reason why.

I still like Wheeler but maybe he is better suited as a boost off the bench. Anyway, food for thought.

1. Ulis- 7.1 (4.2 as a backup '15)
2. John Wall- 6.3
3. Brandon Knight- 5.3
4. SGA- 5.2
5. Fox- 5.1
6. Harrison (2)- 5.1
7. Marquis Teague- 3.5
8. Harrison (1)- 3.2
9. Hagans (2)- 3.2
10. Hagans (1)- 3.1
11. Wheeler- 2.8
12. Ryan Harrow- 2.1
13. Askew- 1.0

Thanks OP , neat stats. Sometimes stats lie , sometimes they are dead on .. This list IMO is dead on accurate but I'd go Fox at # 3 , just because he's one of my all time favorites . And Yes Wheeler is in Harrow Askew company . Hes that unworthy of all the praise ( Cousy finalist ???)

Completely off topic but Rob Dillingham reminds me of what I thought Ryan Harrow would be when he transferred here.

Hard to argue. I was a fan of Wheeler pick up, but man those win shares are crazy low.

I would put him more in the line of Hagans. I think Askew and Harrow are in their own company tbh.

Didn’t help Murray fell to the March Curse. He went ice cold that game.

You know another interesting stat and sad fact of that game?

Tyler Ulis played 72 career games at UK. He had 381 assists and 107 turnovers. He logged 2170 minutes and just 5 times he finished with more TO's than AST's in a game. 3 of them were as a Freshman. 1 was his first game of Sophomore season....

The last was against IU. 3a, 4to.

It was also only the 2nd game he fouled out in at UK....the other a regular season loss to UT.

Why’d you have to make me remember that.

Now I’m mad all over again. 😂

The “jerks” usually back it up aka rondo, cousins, etc. the worst bust of the Cali era is Orton but did had no knees. My buddy lamb destroyed a hotel room but uh I was there for that one and it wasn’t all his fault. My man also a sniper.
Destroyed a hotel room? Details

Hagans could defend and no one was going to post him up.
