So I am guessing that Wimsatt is out of the discussion for the QB position? If so, it looks like ( from the outside looking in) that they did him a injustice. Never given the chance to play but a few snaps and mostly run play, where the defense knew exactly what was going to happen.

Wimsatt is terrible. We knew coming in that he is terrible. His career numbers say so. To be honest, bringing him in has been a net negative on the season as his appearances routinely disrupt the offense and damn near lost us the Ole Miss game if not for Kattus’ heads up play.

I just hope we didn’t pay a lot of NIL money for him to come and have worse passing numbers than he had last season. And he was terrible passing last year.

He's not any good...theres endless tape on him that proves this

Did him an injustice? More like they did us all an injustice by giving him promised snaps he didn't deserve.

Hes a terrible passer. He should do everyone a favor change positions. Its the only chance he has at the next level.

Needs a different position. Too good an athlete to be on the bench and not good enough at QB to play there

Dude never made a play this year....he tried to lose the Ole Miss gimmie wiht a fumble on the goalline

HE played 2 years at Rutgers and never did much....had no problem taking him at UK but if I knew they were going to force him into the games as much as they did....I'd not have wanted him.

Thats my thoughts also. Them forcing him into games at QB knowing that he had limited skills was not only a injustice to him, but also the team. Looks like they had made promises to him to get him here, then forced to try and use him at a position that he wasnt prepared for.

Hamden wanted a backup quarterback who was a running threat. That’s why he brought in UCLA backup quarterback Collin Schlee for a visit, who Hamden saw in Boise’s bowl game last year. Schlee opted for VPI, and Wimsatt was offered. Schlee has performed admirably for VPI when called upon, hitting on 55% of his passes and rushing for 106 yards, while Wimsatt has been the TEMU version of Schlee, hitting on 40% of his throws and rushing for 102 yards. Like Joey Gatewood, if Wimsatt wants to start at QB, he’s going to need to transfer to an FCS or DII school.

Just another example of a kid who's been misled into thinking he's something that he's not.

I think GW can play football and is a pretty good athlete, I'm not sure why he wasn't transitioned to playing a wildcat/skill position.

Maybe that discussion was had, and he wasn't interested. Perhaps, they'll have that discussion again and this time it will sink in that if he wants to play ball at the P2 level, then it'll have to be at a different position.

Most likely he hits the portal. Maybe there's some G5 interest, but I think the opportunity for him to get serious run at QB will be very limited and very specific in terms of offense, style, coach.

We're going to lose some skill to the portal, if I were him and the staff I'd really look into the potential at those spots.

I think you’re are right in bush is behind this

Which only solidifies to me he isn’t a good OC That ain’t working in sec running the qb who can’t throw

I remember Jeff Speedy Pookir Jones, Shane Boyd etc.

He csn get away with this in Boise st..not UK

It’s one thing to have a guy like a Blake Bell or Taysom Hill who you can stick at QB in certain situations while helping you out at another position, but you can’t have a guy who is a 46% career passer running the offense. Did they think he would improve against SEC competition?
