When will the team start practicing for the July games?

You’d think they would start practicing pretty soon to get ready for those July games. Are any of the freshmen on campus yet?

Cal doesn’t recruit basketball players he recruits athleticism. No need to practice athleticism either you have it or you don’t at this point. Just show up in July about 20 mins before tip time.

Players will report by June 1st for sure. I would think Freshmen will be there in next two weeks.

The whole month of June they are together for camps on campus and satellite. It is the same every year. They are practicing that whole month outside of camps. In all the years we have been I can only remember two guys (+ Sharpe) not being on campus yet who were on the team. Juzang and Ugo...in both instances they were late additions. IIRC no one else has not been there unless there was some other obligation.

Traditional Camps start June 9. Satellite Camps start June 3.

Most high schools finish in late May, and many finish the first week of June.

We probably won't even know our roster fully looks like until the end of May. Oscar, Reeves, Bradshaw, Johnson, and others are still making their decisions.

I was talking to Milt Wagner at a Derby party and he said the last day of school at Camden for DJ and Bradshaw is June 21. Graduation is June 24 for them.

I would say by June 1st.

I'm just basing this off camps I've attended with my kids over past several years. All of the players have been there. Some have been in mid June but the camps always start the first week of June.

As an example in '19 we attended the first session which I just looked back in calendar was June 7th. Maxey, Brooks, Whitney and Canada were all FR and there. Only one who wasn't was Juzang and he didn't sign until late summer IIRC.

Past couple years we've gone later in month but to my knowledge all players are on campus by early June.

IIRC we got 10 practices before going to the Bahamas
