The one-sentence summary of the Calipari era is that we can have the #1 recruiting class and “panic button” threads simultaneously.
You’re smoking something, a “blip”from our best perimeter scorer and one of the only shooters on the roster. We have 7 players and nobody to come in right now.

I've said it once. I'll say it again. The program is about winning games and preparing the best recruits for the NBA. Some of you really seem to resent the fact that these young guys can go to the NBA after one year. You also really seem to hate the NBA in general. You have to accept the fact that the world is changing. NCAA basketball is part of that change.

Tbf a lot thought it was a one off. And the next season looked so much better until a peacock.
In hindsight that was the first of many major Ref flags.
As low as we are, there’s still a LOT to lose. This has to be Cal’s last year. Has to.
I agree with that. I was going to post this. I have quit having expectations for a Calipari coached team. It appears the game is not that important to him. With what we're going to have I expect nearly double digit losses at the end of the pre-season. The freshmen will then go on to be good in the NBA and we will sneak our way into the NCAA as a 6th seed probably around the 4th best team in the SEC. The bar is low and the amount of caring is low.

August 21st when classes start. Cal needs to find 2 good players between now and then. Transfers going through the draft process, grad transfers, reclass guys, possible returners. There is no excuse for Cal not to add 2 good players to the roster plus a depth guy or two that has a pulse by then.
What if Calipari is working in silence and us fans are just overreacting to the situation. Calipari is probably about to have a “hold my beer” moment.

At least there was excitement.We knew once the regular season was over that we wouldn't be playing in any tourney but for that team to go 14-14 was fantastic.That was a fun season looking back and it set the stage for what was to come.

Coaching and player's performance are 2 ways to look at the way to win games.
None of this talk about our current nba-destined players means nothing.
As a coach you build your team and have multiple strategies based on how the opponent is playing the game.
I wish the best for the guys considering the nba.....but we got to re-build the team and I dont like losing.

Let me amend my previous post. Around here, people have panic buttons glued to the soles of their shoes. So that there's little flashes of panic with every step they take. Like those kiddie tennis shoes.

I think for me it was about 2018, but basically this is my answer.
Actually I dont resent a kid for wanting to goto the nba, and I wished they could go straight out of high school.
As long as cal is here, winning will take a backseat to improving draft status and people can like it or not but it is what it is.

Nobody resents that they can go to the NBA in one year. Nobody really hates the NBA. They are fans or they aren't.
But UK is NOT the NBA. It's fine if these guys all go if they are winning while they are at UK. For awhile not, they haven't been - at least not to UK's standards.
What I resent is the coach not doing his job. I have ZERO resentment for the players whatsoever.
I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the people on this forum who brag about how much they hate the NBA. Those people do exist on here.
