is that both of their S.O.S.'s are in the top 5 (UK #3 and UVA #5)....

These two teams are legit.

RPI

Realtimerpi has Kansas ahead of UK. A 13-2 team that got beat by 32 BY us. Guess that tells how much integrity that list possesses.

Think that list might be a day or two old though. Still.

I agree Yabba but that is because KUs SOS is #1....

Still garbage having them ahead of an undefeated UK team, that beat KU (like a drum on a neutral court) and UK has a top 3 schedule....

I think even the computers are Kentucky hatin...

Who has UVA beat that is really any good? They may be legit, but as MJ said on his show this morning, let's see what they do against a Duke, a UL, a UNC, etc.

Yes, I know they beat ND and Maryland...but those teams talent levels are not close to the 3 I mentioned above.

Well to have a top 5 RPI SOS they have played a tough schedule all season if not top 10 teams.

If you play quite a few tier 2 teams that are ranked well versus tier 1 teams that are ranked well but not as many as the tier 2 teams I can see where you are ranked well but the prooof is in playing AND beating tier 1 teams. UK has done that, taking nothing away from UVA, they have not. When you paly the tier 1 teams, that is normally where the loss(s) come from unless you are everyone's superbowl. (Those who want to argue the superbowl analogy I guess they can but it does make a difference to the team playing in their superbowl versus "another" ranked team.)

Virginia has 3 top 20 Pomeroy wins: at Notre Dame, at VCU, and at Maryland. Keep in mind wins on the road count more than neutral site and home wins since they are harder to win.

Kentucky has played 10 top 100 teams, UVA 9 based on the Pomeroy rankings. The average of UK's top 10 opponents is 45.1. The average of UVA's top 10 opponents is 52.9. If you just average the top 100 teams, it's UK 45.1, UVA 44.6.

Narrow it down to the top 50 Pomeory, it's 6 teams vs. 5 teams. UK average of 25.8, UVA average of 26.4.

Narrow it down more to the top 25, it's 3 vs. 3 (since Texas has fallen off a cliff). UK average of 11.0 s. UVA average of 16.3

Even more amazing that people don't know how RPI works
