Running a brothel in minardi hall just "impermissable benefits."

from their scout board:
Any reasonable person has known from the beginning that really, what this all boils down to is impermissible benefits, totaling $5k-$7k over 4 years. This is most likely less than what would be spent on a car for a player. The fact that it involved nudity/sex/strippers/hookers made it a salacious (or lurid) story. The media frenzy that accompanied this whole thing still boggles my mind. Does anyone really believe that at least some of the "hostesses" that are used on many college campuses during recruiting are not receiving money from boosters (or someone involved with the program) to show the recruits a really good time, or at least facilitate putting the recruits in situations where they can get sex if they want it? What is the difference between that and what happened at U of L? It happens all the time. It is a relatively minor amount of impermissible benefits, and we have more than paid for it in many ways, although I still think RP gets a suspension.

What a joke. If Jurich wasn't running that cowtown, they'd have been charged with sex trafficking minors.

I want the legal system to explain why no one is charged. Is it because the minors were on ul's campus?

Sadly, I have an intelligent, successful friend who happens to be a die-hard UL fan and this is her response to the whole thing. "It happens everywhere". Sex on recruiting visits may happen all over the place, but paying hookers to sleep with recruits/their parents/current players does not. The NCAA has already said the money isn't the issue (and let's be honest.... the stated amount is all the NCAA can prove.. .I'd bet much more was exchanged). The fact that a basketball program was paying for hookers to entertain recruits/players inside the basketball dorm is the issue. That goes far beyond "impermissible benefits", or at least it should in any semi-rational person's mind.

According to "the book" someone at UL(or at the behest of UL) paid hookers to go to the local embassy suites and have sex with a minor and his guardian. I'm not sure what world you can live in where you wouldn't incur some serious criminal charges for doing that.

On top of that, their players had sex with at least one minor and maybe two.

VJ King wants to play at a noted school but not share the spotlight with other 5 stars. UofL was a good choice (for him).
