If Fears had made a circus shot it would have made 2 straight we got beat by a guy with a name ending in "ears" and the board would be in complete meltdown. We'd be 7-8 and more likely than not being tied with Arky after Saturday and behind in the first tie breaker and on a 3 game losing streak. Instead we're all some combination of elated and relieved at pulling off a much needed win. You could say Ok isn't any good and we should have won by more but you can't deny we got the absolute best they had.

It is interesting to note that Godwin fouled out in 22 minutes of action. He did not miss a shot in the game, so it was nice he was out at the end.

Butler fouled out in only 20 minutes of action.

I hate teams that win and don't cover the spread and still think they've won.

Spread was UK by 2 1/2. 2 points mattered. Should have called the foul at the end.

Bottom line is we had to win either this or the Texas game. Both would have been nice, but I’ll take 1-1.

Now take care of business against LSU, win at least one game in the SECT, and I feel we are solidly a 3-seed. If you had told me that back in April when we didn’t even have a team, I’d have taken it in a heartbeat.

We need to beat LSU and Mizzou. It would be nice to beat a great team on the road to end the year.

We need a good showing in the SECT.
If we only win against LSU, we probably need a deep run in the SEC Tournament to lock up a 3 seed. Winning one or zero games in the SEC Tournament may result in a 4 seed.

If we win one of the games against Auburn or at Missouri, or if we win both of them plus LSU, even if we lose the first game in the SEC Tournament, we are still almost guaranteed to be a 3 seed.

I think we need to focus more on the Auburn and Missouri games. Winning one of these gives us more tolerance margin in the SEC Tournament.

We need to win the first SEC Tournament game, but the most important thing is to stay healthy for the tournament.

Even if we win the SEC Tournament championship, our ceiling could still be a 2 seed. It is impossible to be a No. 1 seed with nine losses. 2 seed is not significantly different with 3 seed.

So just stay healthy and prepare for the big tournament. The SEC Tournament is not that important.

I just want to win it again. I’m tired of not winning the thing year after year.

Players should still give their best effort to win every game in the SEC Tournament.

Winning an extra game could make a difference in seeding. There may be a scenario where winning one more game secures a 3 seed, while not winning results in a 4 seed. A 3 seed is certainly better than a 4 seed.

The players' goal should always be to compete for victory.

Kentucky has not won the SEC Tournament championship since 2018, so they should fight hard to win it

Not so sure we need a deep run, they have been quite consistent in keeping UK at that 3 seed because of the resume, and I think accounting for injuries. Now if it turns out Robinson or another player ends up being ruled out for the rest of the season that could change.

If we beat LSU, we will probably get a 3 seed (low 3 or high 4), but it won’t be locked in. If our competitors win their games, we could get pushed down. However, if we only beat LSU but make a deep SECT run, we will lock in a 3 seed regardless of how our competitors perform.

Ok brought their A game and we had to settle for about 50% of Butler and no Robinson , and Oweh was actually BAD for an entire half , and we still beat them . Gutty road win, we overcome a lot . Pope did play some weak lineups but the hand he has been dealt sucks , and he keeps making chicken salad if you get what I'm saying . His choice of lineups / rotations is my only gripe , I think he tries to buy too many minutes from certain guys ( Chandler)

Another thing that is going to cost us bad at the wrong time IMO -- Brea refuses to fight thru a screen and defend the three .. 3 times in the first 4 minutes of the second he gets totally lost on a 1/2 ass screen , hell no one really screens hard these days , and still he get bogged down in traffic and leaves shooters wide ass open . We were rolling on O but couldn't get ahead because OU kept hitting 3s . It's going to cost us eventually .

Pope really needs a defensive guru to teach how to defend
