Very possibly the dumbest thing ever written.

Who cares?

I wished people would concentrate on the good we have and not the blithering idiot we were stuck with for 6 years.
I sort of understand why you feel as you do, but it is hard to forget the in-your-face crap that came from Arkansas and in some cases the media when Cal left. If we are being completely honest, the so-called experts including some UK fans were certain that we would be the team stumbling out of the blocks because we lost the Pied Piper of college basketball. However, that didn't happen. It the Pied Piper led Hogs experiencing problems that look very familiar to most UK fans.

We have one of the best offenses in basketball. This doesn't mean there won't be some bumps along the way, but those bumps seem to be rather trivial when compared to the sinkholes that Arkansas is experiencing. Without a lot of time, Pope quickly put together a team of players who failed to capture the imaginations of fans as the Pied Piper's band of 5-star headlines typical do. There was little talk if any of this team even coming close to cracking the top 10 because individually the team is comprised of off-the-radar players. Pope has reminded us that basketball is a team sport in which team play is more important than individual play. Great team play requires great leadership which is exactly what Pope is providing and what Cal is incapable of providing any team. In his inaugural season, Pope has already masterfully coached his team to victory over Duke who many think has the best talent this season.

There is no way to tell at this point how this season will end, but I think it is safe to say that Pope has demonstrated he is capable of coaching at this level. Given enough time he will produce a championship team at Kentucky. I am not saying it will be this year and I am not saying that it won't be. However, I don't think it is wise to bet against Pope. Not a sermon, just a thought!
