UL down 9 points to UMBC…

I'm gonna hold my nose and root for U6. I really don't want Kenny to get fired.

Instead of being smartasses and trying to be one upping, educate me. But no, this is a message board and everyone feels the need to be a jerk instead of informative.
"Ergo, Go Away"
That was the end of your response when you thought you knew what you were talking about. Why would anyone spend the time to educate you after that. Try Google

If I'm not on ignore, betting lines are designed to bring in 50% of the money on both teams and they keep 5% of all bets. If more money comes in on one team, they adjust the line. Moneyline just means who would win outright without a point spread. You do get better odds on the underdog using the moneyline but are far less likely to win depending on how lopsided the match up is.

U6 pulls out the 1 point win. I for one consider this a major turning point that should get KP at least one more year.

Fine, I'll be the bigger man. That was my bad. However, his original response wasn't exactly cordial. I don't take it well when someone says "Go learn something" without offering why I was wrong.

When the sports books pay out when a big underdog wins, they collect more than they are paying out from the people who bet the favorite. If a +640 underdog wins, for every $100 that was bet on the underdog, $700 was bet on the favorite. Casino collects $700, pays $640, and makes $60.

Thank you.

This is not correct. If the dog is +640, the favorite is not going to be even money, it will be minus quite a bit. For instance, currently Sunday to bet on the Browns to win you get $205 for $100 if they win. However, to bet the Ravens to win, you have to bet $250 to win $100. Tonight on our game, if you bet NMSt to win for $100, you would have gotten $1400 if they won. You would have had to bet $5000 to win $100 if you were betting Kentucky to win.

Re-reading your post, we might be saying the same thing. If you are saying the favorite was -700, we generally agree.
