UK only up two spots in latest AP poll

Miami has proven to be overrated (our students were onto something!) .... and UK was in a 1-pt game with Penn in the 2H. I have no issues at all with UK's ranking at this point.

MSU being WILDLY overrated at 4-5 and will likely miss the tournament, didn't seem to hurt Duke too much, as much as them losing 3 games did.

Miami is still a great win (for now), where as MSU no longer is even a good win.

I don't buy the Oklahoma or Clemson hype either, but

Oklahoma has played and beaten the best teams on their schedule which includes a ranked at the time USC, Arkansas, and even Iowa and Providence. Iowa might be down this year, but they are still a P5 win. For now they have a claim to be ranked where they.

Same goes for Clemson. Beat the best teams on their schedule. @Alabama, @Pitt, and beaten South Carolina and TCU. They've earned the chance to have a high ranking. We'll see what they do with it.

It's also still weird as hell to see Houston, Cincinnati, and BYU in the B12

When you get stomped by powerhouse unc Wilmington at home and beat a ivy league school on a neutral court that was a barn burner with 5 minutes to go i am surprise we did not go down two spots

That Penn team stomped Villanova on the road, and if you remember, Villanova beat UNC/Texas Tech/Memphis a week later.

That St. Joe's win is looking pretty good right now also.

Dont see anyone overreacting at all. As meaningless as they are at the end of the day, most people find them a fun part of the college basketball season. Don’t over think it here Pensacola.

Yeah I totally agree.

We wait all year for basketball season, and then there's strangely some posters who seem to think we still shouldn't talk about basketball season things (like rankings, standings, bracketology, etc.) until March.

This is a Kentucky Basketball message board- people are going to end up talking about Kentucky basketball

Yeah I forgot Clemson at least beat Bama at their place. So, give them credit for that. But, this doesn't look like the typical Bama team of the last few years either. We'll see how Clemson fares moving forward but I fully expect them to take a few losses soon. I will certainly be rooting for them against Duke and UNC in the ACC though!

I believe the pollsters have figured out that Cal is a very average coach and the transfer portal has taken away the overwhelming talent advantage he’s had in the past.

He loses games now with overwhelming talent. Example UNCW.
He'll right now I would take a sec title and tournament champion too we use too dominate unbelievable

Ole Miss is 9-0 with wins over UCF (B12), NC State (ACC), and Memphis (AAC).

James Madison is going to irritate me all year. They got in the rankings with that win over Michigan State and haven't played anyone since.

I think it's based on more than just wins, losses and SOS. They were primed to skyrocket to the Top Five before Cal reverted. Cal wants rock fights and that means losses we shouldn't have, something the best teams tend to not do.

It's good UNC didn't drop though. Can still claim beating a top 10 team
All we can do is beat the teams where there are ranked when we play them. We beat a top 10 team and hopefully about to beat another. We can’t complain that Cal doesn’t win these game and when he does the say “oh well they lose a game so that doesn’t count now.”

St. Joes is a good team. They will be a team to watch in March assuming they take care of conference business. I think Penn is very solid too. Much more than a lot of Name teams out there. 3 of their losses are OT by slim margins.

How is Duke higher than us in the Net? I know it's early, but the Net ratings aren't even close to being accurate.I would have thought after 8-9 games it would look somewhat correct.

Ole Miss, at least right now, look like the sleeper in the SEC. Gonzaga wildly overated, as is Tennessee.

At this point in the season, with young players, I like this, put a chip on their shoulder, don’t get the big heads. Plenty of time to work way into top 5-6.

The UNCW loss was putrid, and a classic Calipari follow up face-plant. We will carry that loss all season long.

ESPN currently gives Florida (yes Florida) a better than 66% chance of beating Kentucky in our first SEC road game. We need to close strong over the next three games and show we can play with everyone back and plugged in.

If Kentucky losses a game before going to TAMU then this will just be another 8-9 loss season and an indicator that we will be doing good to make it to the second weekend of the NCAA. The rest of the season will just be hoping against hope.

Not buying the Clemson or Oklahoma hype. I feel like Clemson especially starts off hot every single year beating up on nobodies and they quickly fade as they get more consistent tough competition.
I can get those 2 since they are undefeated but UT has lost 3 games and while it was to ranked teams they still lost them. Their best wins are against a 2 loss Illinois team and a 3 loss Wisconsin team.
