UConn vs. Gonzaga tonight at 10. Who you got?

I don't particularly like Hurley's personality but he got this part right.

After losing to New Mexico State in the NCAA tourney a few years ago, Dan Hurley changed his entire approach. Instead of going with toughness and defense, he decided to prioritize shooting. UConn 7-of-9 from 3 tonight against Gonzaga. "We've got shooters all over the place," Hurley said.

I’m not gonna trip over 4-5 3’a a game. I honestly believe this team is a good team. Trying to figure out how to best play with Bradshaw and he’s proving to be good enough to warrant that. We need rim protection and rebound help. It’s a matter of best meshing the 2. As long as we stay over 20 3’s a game that’s fine with me. I’d rather see 25 but not forced.

25 wouldn't be forced. Gotta have less possessions with long 2's and value what you're good at, which is shooting 3's. And with 4 out, if teams are pressing us outside the perimeter, there will be backdoor cuts to the basket. I'm good with open 3's, and layups. I don't need to see anymore long 2's with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. You can get that shot anytime.

UCONN only scored 76 points and took just 17 threes. Why is everyone slobbering over wanting that offense? UK did that last week and got crushed by a ton of people on here

It's that "modern offense" thingy. Supposedly both UConn and Gonzaga play it. Doesn't matter if a team scores only 50. As long as they are playing "modern offense" in the eyes of the hater.

Do you think he has had anything the past four years to be overly excited about. Oscar gave everything he had but wasn’t on a great team
2 years ago that team was pretty good, played like one of the best 2-3 teams in the country the middle 1/3 of the season until injuries derailed them. Still no excuse for our worst tournament loss ever (arguably our worst loss ever). But had Tyty not been injured (which I think led to Grady overuse and injury) we may have also finished with a good outcome.

they are only shooting 34% from 3 so far this year

This board is straight up cluttered with Cal homers. They are watching a UCONN game, and talking about post offense, after UCONN shot 25 3's per game last year. Get the **** outta here.
Usually the complaint is about the number of Cal haters, Dozens of threads saying the same thing over and over. That kind of thing.

Yeah posting up isn’t bad if you run good offense off of it. People complain about the rock fights and clogging the lane because that’s what we have seen for multiple years now. Kentucky ran 4 out some and it worked. The stretch against Wilmington where cal panicked and went to his high low stuff with Mitchell didn’t make any sense to me.
Missing almost all your 3s and not passing for better shots might shake the faith the coach has in his players,

UK scored 72 points at home, and lost to UNC Wilmington. Uconn scored 76 at a neutral site, and beat Gonzaga by 13. Surely to God you see the difference.

By being modern, it means shooting zero long 2's unless it's at the end of the shot clock, and stay away from feeding the post. Run 4 out, and have 40+% of your shots from 3, especially since we shoot the basketball so well. The rest should be at the basket, or floaters, which we also seem to shoot well. That is my ideal offense. And run when you can.
