UConn vs. Gonzaga tonight at 10. Who you got?

They actually run good sets go get their guys open, when Kentucky clogs the lane they run a high low and force post feeds into double teams and the offense becomes stagnant
I didn't say they didn't run good sets. Half this board thinks posting up is bad and should never be done. They threw a fit when Bradshaw posted up a few times and claimed we were going back to rock fights when the stats show the tempo actually increased. We've posted Bradshaw and still were running a 4 out set when we did it, but people still bitch and moan about clogging the lane and rock fights.

UConn runs good sets that include posting up. We've also been running good sets that include posting up.

I was with you until this shit. No we haven't. It's just more bullshit fodder from the Calipari fans.

We haven’t run good sets that include posting up yet this season. In fact we’ve looked awful when intentionally trying to post up.

Normally, our post stuff is pretty good. I have no doubt Cal will figure out an effective way to use Bradshaw, Tre, and Ugonna. Not guaranteeing it will be pretty, or that it will translate to team success, but the frontcourt will be productive.

Just hoping we don’t turn them into black holes. We have no business playing that way given the guards and shooting we have. I just don’t have high confidence in Cal resisting going back to what’s comfortable with him - but we’ll see. We haven’t had guards like this in at least 5 years (Monk/Fox), so I’m forcing myself to keep an open mind for now.

UConn is my meaningless December pick to cut the nets down (again). They are just so good at what they do, balanced roster, and they are well coached. Elite defense and offense.

Right. They didn't lose at home to UNC Wilmington either, and have fans defend the shit. I'm tired of reading the nonsense. If we were actually good, nobody would be bitching.

Yeah posting up isn’t bad if you run good offense off of it. People complain about the rock fights and clogging the lane because that’s what we have seen for multiple years now. Kentucky ran 4 out some and it worked. The stretch against Wilmington where cal panicked and went to his high low stuff with Mitchell didn’t make any sense to me. That’s not this teams best offensive choice and it was a weird move. I’m fine with post ups, if they don’t come with two bigs in the lane, and like you said 4 out, and there is movment off the ball. I just worry about cal resorting back to his old stuff and trying to win that way, when he doesn’t have the team to do that

We ready to throw the bag at Hurley? Although I think it'd too late. Small chance he leaves uconn when he has recruiting in the northeast on lock.

Also Gonzaga at 10th with two losses, one of which to Washington.. is a little suspect. Do they have a ranked win?

No, they lost to Purdue by 10

Well my parlay is already roasted but I'd settle for Gonzaga getting a sound beating to somewhat mute the media fawning they get every year.

Gonzaga's best wins are UCLA, USC, and Syracuse. They lost to Purdue and Washington. The other wins are against Ark-Pine Bluff, Yale, MVSU, Bakersfield, and E Oregon.

Zags are decent maybe a 2nd weekend team in March with a good draw. KY should win easily. UCONN is elite and should make a deep run in March

Lmao we have NO post players. Bradshaw is a string bean and Mitchell couldn’t jump over a phone book. AND, both of these guys can bang the 3. Dumb as hell to post these guys more than a few times a game.

Kentucky should be able to beat this Gonzaga team especially with it in mid-February.

Will be interesting to see how DJ handles Nemhard. Watson and Mitchell will be the undercard.

This board is straight up cluttered with Cal homers. They are watching a UCONN game, and talking about post offense, after UCONN shot 25 3's per game last year. Get the **** outta here you dumbass MFERS.
Ummm this game isn’t last year though. Not to mention we are shooting like easily 25 a game this year. In fact I just looked it up, 25.7 a game. That’s good balance this year.

Watching UCONN makes me think that Cal even got outcoached by Kevin Ollie.
Not really, we played the worst first half we could in that game. Not to mention, the other times we got absolutely hosed in the final four against them by Rooferee. 2014 is not the time to criticize Cal’s coaching. Harrison was clutch AF but that team really came on and played a tough road and won some hard games.

I figured UCONN won by 30+ seeing all the jerking off of them in this thread. They are very good and a definite final four caliber squad but the Zags are nowhere near what they have been the last couple years. That said, we have to show up and beat them this year too. We will get to see how good exactly they are soon.

Is last year this year? KU won it all in 2022 and they were 287th in 3 point attempts, yet they had the 6th most efficient offense in the country. There's more than one way to skin a cat. This board has such a simplistic and narrow view of what a good offense is. It's more than just taking a shit ton of 3s.
Tempo...….That gets overlooked.

FTR, KU attempted 20 per game in 2022----made 7.9

We were shooting 29 per game this year until the last 2 games, when our offensive philosophy changed. We shot roughly 19 or 20 per after that. So ummmmmmmm. Have you not seen people talk about the offense changing when AB came back? Cmon man.

Let's see what we do moving forward, but I'm starting to have flashbacks. Cal is wanting to Cal.

We’ll beat up the Zags when we host them like they beat up on us last time.

I’m not gonna trip over 4-5 3’a a game. I honestly believe this team is a good team. Trying to figure out how to best play with Bradshaw and he’s proving to be good enough to warrant that. We need rim protection and rebound help. It’s a matter of best meshing the 2. As long as we stay over 20 3’s a game that’s fine with me. I’d rather see 25 but not forced.
