TV for tomorrow's game?

You know what I can't do with my watchespn app on my XBOX? DVR.

I rarely use it. Do they keep replays on the watchespn app?

I'll give you 4 letters. ROKU! Haha!

Go get a ROKU streaming stick. They cost about $50 at Walmart. If you have a HD-TV and a decent speed wireless network in your home, you can watch the ESPN+ games in HD. The ROKU stick plugs directly into an HD input. That's what I'm planning to do. And no, I don't work for them or make any money if you get one. :D

I know at least 5 people that want to watch the game tonight... That HAS to be more than the number that will be watching women's soccer!

Yes they do but it's weird. If I go to the website to access it, you can search and find old UK games. But if I go through the app on my win10 desktop, I can't.

No tv for NJIT either, according to LHL today. Only being streamed. Better get an early start complaining about that one.[winking]

Will you have a replay Billionth? I would DVR the game but...
Yes. If everything works as planned, a "quick" replay will be available 5-10 minutes after the game ends, a commercial free replay in the middle of the night, and a Leach & Pratt radio sync replay sometime tomorrow.

Woo Hoo, thanks IL Wildcat. I have ROKU and had just asked about that. Didn't think it would be available that way though. For anyone still in the dark, ROKU is amazing. Still time to run out and get one before the game tonight. It's great besides the ability to see this game on TV rather than your computer.

Only thing is, the last time I watched a game that was only on ESPN3, or WatchESPN, the quality was horrible. In the past I had no issues, but that last time, it would be clear for a bit and then long stretches of dial-up quality picture. Hope that is not the case tonight.

Yes silentsaregolden, I hope that won't be an issue, either. When you're streaming, it seems almost inevitable there will be a couple times when the signal isn't as good. Here's a good tip, though. Power cycle (unplug for 30 seconds or so) all your equipment (modum, router) before the game starts (even the ROKU if you have an always on device like mine). Tell your kids not to be watching any YouTube or any videos elsewhere in the house. That will help prevent the interruptions.

You are correct. And when the SEC network came out I had directv. And I wasn't able to access the SEC through the ESPN app. So I changed to time Warner. Well guess what. Time Warner isn't a participating provider. That's my luck. Haha

I watched an SEC Network football game through the WatchESPN app on my Xbox One Saturday. I have TWC in Louisville. Here is an article about it working.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Beginning today, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks customers will be able to stream SEC Network and SEC Network + live on WatchESPN. Access will be available to fans and followers of the Southeastern Conference in all Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks markets ahead of the Kentucky’s Big Blue Madnessbasketball event tonight and Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina football game on October 16.

Hold the phone IL, it's actually not on ESPN3, but SEC Network +, which I can't watch. I tried accessing something from the menu on that channel, and it said "that channel is not available on your package". I don't know why. Ugh.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that I have ATT UVerse.

Matt Jones on KSR just said that he's hearing they are trying to get it added to the SEC Network Alternate TV channel, but as of right now it's still online only (he should know since he is apart of the announcing broadcast for the SEC Network broadcast instead of the radio broadcast like usual). I hope they do manage to get it on one of the alternate channels. That probably makes too much sense though.

See for me this feels like a step backwards. I appreciate that watching the game in some way, shape, or form is an option (yes I too remember when my only conduit to UK basketball was the voice of Cawood Ledford). But man, sure would be nice to just hit my DVR button on my Directv and be able to have it right there available on my playlist with a point and a click. Nothing extra to hook up and I don't have to worry about someone else in my house using my bandwidth. I mean come on .

Hope you are correct. Going to be busy all day keep us informed. Thanks

Thank you very much!

Just tried the WatchESPN on my XBox One again to verify it is still working and they are airing the Kentucky/Tennessee football game on it right now (not that I want to watch that crap again). So it is working with TWC.

I'll have to double check it. If you have to have a subscription through a cable or satellite provider, that would be an additional step. I was thinking this game was available through their free service. I'll check it and post again.

I think I'm in the clear streaming through ROKU. I have DirecTv for satellite and Mediacom for internet. You do need to have a subscription through a service that will give you access to ESPN's SEC Network package.

Okay, so I'm on my ESPN app on my Xbox right now. under "live and upcoming" for Kentucky's men's basketball, the first event listed is Albany vs. Kentucky on November 13. Soooo ... am I looking in the wrong place?

edit: Found it. Had to look at "all" events. Apparently this isn't found under Kentucky basketball. Convenient!

I have DirecTV too, but I have AT&T Uverse for internet, and apparently the SEC Network Plus is not available though them. Thank God for Billionth's site.

Hook your computer up to your TV. If don't have that capability, go to Best Buy and get capability. If can't afford it, watch it at Best Buy as they show you how to do it for two hours. :)

Well, while I was talking to UVerse guy about this, at least I did get something out of it. He saw that I was eligible for some promotion discount of 30 bucks off my bill per month for a year. So at least I got that going for me. Which is nice.

Haha! "On your deathbed, you'll receive total consciousness. So, I got that going for me, which is nice." Made me chuckle my friend.

Yeah I'll have some type of high quality restream of the SEC Network+ stream as well as a few links to others restreaming it--so you won't have to worry about any kind of provider restrictions with them.

If BBN calls and complains enough to ESPN and the SEC Network it still might be possible to get the game on one of the SEC Alternate TV channels... so I definitely recommend people calling.
Best guess as to when you might have the replay available?

If the technology I plan on using for this online game behaves like it's supposed to and the game ends on time, probably around 9:05 PM or 9:10 PM (ET). A slightly better quality commercial free replay should be ready by sometime in the middle of the night, and the Leach & Pratt radio sync should be ready sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Sure bet that the SEC+ Servers are going to get a Real Test tonite.
Might have them thinking, maybe that wasn't a good idea. Can you imagine the response from the BBN if their severs go down?

Crap! Per KSR, it's Internet only. So we get LESS coverage now that the SEC network takes over. These are the games the local broadcast would pick up in the past. And don't give me that crap about more people can see it online. They could do both. What the hell is the point of the SEC alt channels?

While I agree it's annoying--the actuality is that all games are now streamed by someone somewhere. Access is the best it's ever been.

Several threads on here about this. Some of the posters are graciously going to offer live stream on the internet. NO LIVE TV.
