Usually when we have been looking at triple double possibilities with our past players, it is always a big with points, rebounds, and blocks. Last night, Murray came one assist shy of a triple double with points, rebounds, and assists. It was only a scrimmage against a clearly inferior team. But, could he possible pull this off in the season? We knew the scoring would be there. But he was active on the boards and showed good vision in finding open teammates in scoring position. He may be the player this year to flirt with and maybe get our triple double.

Could he? Sure.
Will he? I wouldn't bet on it.
The only triple double I'm aware of for UK, was Pts, Reb & Ast, by Chris Mills. And if I remember right, his rebound numbers were high for that game.

Murray is a "refuse to lose " kind of player. A perfect marriage playing for Cal. We saw how he responded in overtime for Canada, when he became their go-to guy to get the win. Averaging over 30 pts. a game against the best high school talent in the U.S. during the all-star games. Jamal is an elite talent. Let's enjoy the ride.

I don't think so...it was the assists that were higher than normal, if irc. I remember him getting quite a few double-doubles that year w/ points and rebounds

If he had gotten it, would it have "counted" in the records since it was just an exhibition game? I was wondering that last night when they were discussing it.

I think he could, but Ottawa will be one of the "worst" teams we play this year. There won't be that many opportunities for him to rebound quite as much once we play bigger stronger teams. His best chance is in the non-conference against a small school. Let's hope he does it! It would be cool to see!

It's only happened once kind of hard to compare.

It would not have counted

Possible, but the Assists will be tough. And while he was close against Ottawa, we aren't going to face that weak of competition during the year at any point.

Would love to see it though.
