There’s not going to be very many “multi-year guys” while the portal/ NIL is the way it is.
I'll believe it when I see it that we end up with 11 players. That's 3 guys that won't play much based on caliparis MO.
Thanks for posting something potentially positive. It might not pan out, but it's legit stuff - meaning not just some attention seeking poster - whether anything comes of it or not.
Like @mcwildcats04 said we need versatility . A guy that can defend is just as important as getting a sharp shooter .

I would take that bet. I hope you're right, but if we were in Vegas I would put a nice sum against that. In fact - and regardless of where Edwards is drafted - I bet Edwards won't be a top 5 player in the SEC next season. Although, I do think he'll be pretty good and not a disappointment at all.

Yes, he sucked at Ark, at Bama, at UT, vs Providence, vs TAMU. Only went for 18 to 37 in those games.
Just saw the ten or so best transfer players left list and the list I saw wasn't much when talking about the level we should have at Kentucky. How could there be a bunch of great players left when most have already found a home?
I could see Cal bringing in two guys that will be impact guys and a couple of bench guys.
He looks pretty cold. He’s got the build to be a good defender and to make plays at this level. Hopefully he’s got some dawg in him. I don’t want BJ Boston 2.0

The funny thing is all the people wanting us to get to 11 scholarships will turn around and bitch up a storm if one freshman plays less due to it.

Cal is only going to play 8-9 guys, so numbers 10-11 aren’t seeing the light of day.
I’m good with Cal getting a couple of project Freshmen to have in case of injury and that we can hopefully retain for next season, like Onyenso and Thiero this season.
Ultimately, I think Wagner, Edwards, Bradshaw, Dillingham, and Onyenso are in the rotation.
Sheppard probably in there as well, depending on who we add.
We need to add 2-3 more impact guys to get us a solid 8-9 man rotation.
We need some guys like Reeves, Kaluma, and Nelson to give us some experience in the rotation.
Moving the needle isn’t enough. We are not. Top 25 team with the roster. Unless we get a major boost we won’t be. Title contender. We need a guy like Nelson The and idk who else is available for me to generate an amoeba level of excitement. This upcoming season has gone from promising to raking in scraps.
Totally agree. But, we also need a cpl guys who have at least played at the college level. Don’t get me wrong, if we add 4 guys, that is definitely good news & a relief, regardless of their age. But, if 2-3 are true or reclassified FR it really isn’t game changing. We currently have only 2 guys who have played CBB & neither one of them played very much, at all. It will, essentially, be an entirely new roster of 10-11 guys who have never played together, or, at this level, if Reeves isn’t one of them.
Yeah, AB & Wagner played HS ball together & Thiero & UGO played a handful of minutes together last season. But, neither situation equates to chemistry on this level. So, no matter who we add it’s likely gonna be ugly early in the season. But, at least 2 of the new players really need to be transfers who have some D1 experience.
If UGO & Thiero end up being the only 2 guys on this roster with CBB experience, you might as well say that we have nothing but FR. Ideally, we add 3 experienced transfers or 2 if Reeves returns. It’s 100% better than nothing & it’s good to hear that there is at least some smoke. But, we need experience in a bad way to overcome the youth & lack of any discernible cohesion. That really matters if you have hopes of winning a championship.
