I’ve been REALLY enjoying having all upper class transfers. It’ll be interesting to see how they play against the top SEC teams to really gauge that model of team building. So far the best team we’ve played was talented but very young. Alabama and Auburn have a good mix of experience and talent.

What I love about the staff is that they will tell a kid to come back if he's not ready. Calipari never did that. Expect multi-seasons from Mareno and Lewis.

Yes but it’s good to see they are still recruiting high level freshman which is a good thing everywhere. It’s not like we will have an entire team relying on just them. You still want the best freshman you can bring in every year.
Balance is the key. You don't turn down Paolo Banchero if you can get him. Surround guys like that with elite upperclassmen. Connecticut had a nice blend last year. They were not overly predicated on freshmen but they had a few elite young players.
I agree. We are bringing in 4 this year. If we bring 3 of them back for their sophomore year we’re in business.
I like that take. UConn (wisely) used it's 5-star freshman starter as a role player (offensively he was the least productive starter). Sometimes that talent poked out more loudly (especially as the year progressed) and other times his inexperience and lack of development hurt. That's fine. A transfer or even returning player might not provide any more overall impact on winning than that, but you'd likely get less negative plays too. Basically, I don't think any freshman should ever intentionally be made "the man" on a CBB team that hopes to, and has a legitimate chance at, winning a championship. With OAD and the transfer portal I guess a team could potentially end up that way unintentionally, but to allow it intentionally is, in my opinion, poor roster construction or poor coaching or both.
