listening to his show this morning and he said the officiating the 1st half was an embarrassment. Wondered if someone contacted them at halftime because the 2nd half was called much fairer.

That's great and all. But, doesn't change anything, won't change NCAA officiating, and doesn't make me feel better about losing.
It's a disgrace what the NCAA continues to allow happen.
But, I'm one of the morons who continues to watch, keeps buying tickets and merchandise so not sure why the NCAA would ever change.

It did seem like someone from the NCAA must have gone into the Ref's locker and told them to get their act straight. If they had called the first half like the second half I think UK leads at the half. As it went they were lucky to only be down 5. Never seen a first half with that many bad no calls and that many bad calls.
Told the wife these narcissist refs wouldn't be able to stay off social media at halftime. I'm guessing they saw what prominent basketball people like Jay Williams were saying and cleaned it up a little in the second half. The damage was already done.
I said as soon as they called that offensive goal-tend against Bam in the first half which robbed us of 2 points that it was going to be critical in this game and look what happened. We lost by 2 points
By then, the damage was done. Our guys had to completely change the way they played defense given we had four starters with 2 fouls. And then that foul against Willis when we were about to get a steal and had momentum after retaking the lead early in the 2nd half, when it should have been a "play on", was telling (and was by Higgins). Even the refs came over and had a huddle about it, but Higgins wasn't budging.
Or maybe they realized they took enough points off the board for us to help their cause. We did enough to win by multiple possessions if even half of the first half ateocious first half calls were correct
Then the bull crap over the back call on bam that took another 2 away and when hawk drove the ball and they called the foul on the ground is when I knew sh*t was going to hit the fan with the refs then the clear as day charge on White that was called a block.
I thought that foul call on Willis was the worst of the day. The whistle was blown well after Willis' alleged foul and Hump had secured the ball and was looking to make an outlet pass. If UNC secures that ball no whistle would have been blown. I'd bet the house on it.
It's a little to late to be talking about the bad calls since it cost us the game. It has been this way for years now. UNC** & Duke can cheat all they want and nothing is being done about it.
I attended the game fantastic atmosphere for the game was in a fairly large contingent of Cat fans 6 rows up from floor behind Pratt. I cannot talk this morning this group all hollered and booed the referees in the first half until I lost my voice. I have never witnessed anything like it couldn't believe we weren't down 15-20 at halftime. The boys played their hearts out against a team in my estimation a little more talented than we were at every position except Fox or at least a lot more experienced. But when you add what Higgins and that other clown did in the first half were lucky to be in the game. The referees are going to have to be held accountable in some way.
So screwing UK the first half but calling it fairer in the second is supposed to make BBN feel better?!?!?! Well gee whiz, thank you very much.
BOYCOTT CBS,ESPN,and everything NCAA not involving Kentucky,write leaders and make calls until the POS NCAA filled with ACC Alumni and UNC Ties gets an Officiating OverSight Committee to clean these bought and Paid POS refs up.

Worst of the 2nd half, for certain. But the worst of the day was the no-call on Fox's drive when he was mugged by two UNC players towards the end of the 2nd half. That was criminal.
They did it twice and didn't call it on UNC. 6 point swing right there.
Fox and Monk were getting mugged all game with NO CALL,in fact everytime Bam went up he was hammered on the arms and head with NO CALL,but any UK player that even got close to UNC players were whistled,when the whole starting 5 were in foul trouble tells all,never happened one game all season until this fiasco.
I remember the questionable over the back on bam and then on the other end the guy took hawks head off from behind and.....crickets. The first half had several instances where they call it on one end but not the other. Also the foul trouble took Fox and bam out. So our two best scoring options were non factors. Props to the bench for hanging tough though.
I thought we were clearly the better team on the floor. You just can't overcome all of that garbage officiating.
The bench played their rear ends off! Hump and hawk kept us in the game and gave us a fighting chance! Love my cats!
The Fox drive at the end of the 1st half where he got hammered, lost the ball to UNC player, who walked, then went backwards out of bounds with no call.

That was why this was such a bad loss. I really felt like we outplayed them for the most part. We just had some bad breaks and bad calls that decided the outcome.
I'd go a step further. He should never officiate another game. He's either a hater, on the take, or both.
I understand your disappointment. I've been a fan a long, long time. I consider myself a UK fan during the good and bad. I have experienced a lot of heart ache over this period of time. I have also seen the Cats win Four National Titles.
I've been to a Bunch of games , SEC Tournaments, NCAA Regionals but haven't been to a Final Four at least not yet! Love UK gear and wear it Proudly. Maybe in a couple of days you'll be feeling a little better. You got the major complaint right, the NCAA won't change until their Empire is destroyed.

These refs know exactly how and WHEN to make a call, then later make unimportant calls to make it look even. They know they will get away with it because there is no accountability.

Exactly,it's not the number of fouls called ,but the timing and no calls at different ends of the court. Example is everytime UK made a run a series of calls stopped momentum ans allowed UNCheats to maintain the lead,everytime Bam,Fox,or Monk went up to shoot or drove to the basket they got hammered with no call,but any touch at the other end was whistled.
Asswipe Seth Davis pointed out the fouls were UK 19 to UNC 18 big deal,but it was the timing and way it effected the game.You could tell all the scum on CBS mostly UK HATERS had bet on UNC ,no one can tell me that gambling and the Good Ol' Boy connections with ACC,UNC,Media and Officials doesn't change games,oh they are pretty sly at hoe they pull it off,but it's obvious,especially when you look at the records of someone like Higgins calling UK games,as someone else posted a team like Kentucky that wins at 75% or better with a coach like Calipri with an 82% Tourney Win Percentage that has a 37% win percentage when Higgins Officiates out games.
I say it's time to clean this crap up and raise hell with the NCAA until they get an oversight committee holding these pos refs to accountability,funny hoe Higgins has ties to known UK Haters and is friends with Rick Pitino to boot.

They also missed a blatant basket interference call on UNC when a UNC "dunk" was bouncing around in/on/above the cylinder and the UNC shooter (I think it was Maye) was hanging on the rim, interfering with the ball's movement. There's two more for you!
When you play with your three best players on the bench a large part of the first half you are put in a hole it is hard to get out of. We had our chance by going up 5 with time running out but but but but.

This - and to whatever stats anyone wants to toss out there - there is no stat for non-calls. I can take a fair fight any day - but this was unreal on a number of levels. Not normally a ref blamer - but officiating can EASILY impact a close game. I'll leave it to the experts to sort out who should be banned or not or whatever.
In sports - March madness and college basketball have long been my favorite - over any professional sport. Exciting, unpredictable, the Cinderella story. Sadly though - over the last decade or so (probably more), I have noticed a trend in officiating and how much it can impact games. The game has gotten so physical that IF a ref wants to make a call, he can at almost anytime. There is such inconsistency in most games. IDK that the increased interest in gambling doesn't also play a role. Lastly - are refs paid off? Well - I mean - they are human and subject to any manner of pressure - the LEAST of which is any sort of accountability for how they call games. For example it's been clearly documented that UNCheat will go to enormous lengths to cheat - so this type of thing is certainly not beneath them to do - in fact looking at their pattern of systemic cheating - it's more likely that they would.
All that to say - these factors are ruining college basketball, for me, anyway. Every year I give it another try - but it gets worse instead of better. I imagine the NCAA and refs may still be working to figure out a way to wave off the final basket of last year's Final and make Nova play an overtime. Definitely not what the script called for I'm sure. Yes - the kids have to execute in the game - but the officiating can SO sway the trend of a game. Example - Gonzaga v Northwestern on the missed goal tend - then calling a T on Northwestern's coach - who was right. easily a 4 to 6 point swing there
Now I am left with who I want to root against - more than who I want to root for (I am for anyone other than UNCheat... - but favor South Carolina). Just seems wrong. UNCheat will always be an *** type program for me and anyone clued in. SORRY SO LONG - THERAPY.

That's my biggest issue: no accountability.
I'm sick of refs/umps being treated like sacred cows. Make them have to face the media as well; answer some of this.
