The Murray NIT thread reminded me why MSU is not in the NCAA tourney. Watched the Murray/Belmont title game and when Murray threw the ball away with about 9 seconds left giving Belmont one final shot I told my wife Murray should foul immediately and not give Belmont a chance to make a 3 at the buzzer and beat them. Let Belmont make their tieing FTs (probably likely) and then have 7/8 seconds yourself to get a final shot, not worrying about OT since you are the better team.
If somehow the Cats are ahead by 1 with 10 seconds to go and WVU or ND or WSU have the ball I would foul them. All three, IMO, would try to win it with a 3, & not go inside for the tie. (Final four opponents maybe would try for tie .. altho Duke definitely would not go in to Okafor IMO as he would be fouled immediately)
