The Last of Us

I have a feeling the little boy they are looking for is gonna be like Ellie- bitten but not infected.

Hopefully we're back on track now after the required gay homage to Hollywood. Not sure why they wouldn't expect to get ambushed going right through the middle of a large city. Would like to see a little more common sense but I am still hooked on the show despite the awful pointless episode 3.

Pretty obvious why they didn’t get ambushed man, it didn’t happen in the game…

No but for real I figured for sure that would be an ambush too.

Don't know anything about the video game, but I'm really enjoying this so far and hope there's enough material for another season or two.
The word on the street is that the story in the first game was awesome and the 2nd game was horrible. This is the one example of fans hoping they ignore canon for the later story. lol.

Not sure of why they needed the leader of the hunters to be a major character, but her story gives more depth to Henry and Sam.

This episode was almost verbatim of the game, and yet the character building and emotional weight added just made it better. Excellent episode and an absolute gut wrenching ending(game accurate).

Same, never heard of it til the show came out but listening to some of these nerds you’d think the game came to life and resuscitated their mothers on their death beds the way they revere it.
The show is almost beat for beat with the game. You call them nerds, but have you ever watched a movie based on a book? If yes, did you read it before you watched it? If yes, did you enjoy and agree with every change from the story no matter what was changed?

It makes you wonder where people like him thinks stories come from?

Yes plenty. Most recently Where The Crawdads Sing and Idgaf if they change the story because I realize that every story no matter where it comes from can’t/won’t be the exact same (like has been going on since they started making movies from books) because time, budget, artistic license are things that exist in the world.

GOT was different than the books too, which I read a few until I just get they were too verbose in some areas, and those dorks got all up in arms and I still didn’t care. It’s never going to be the same. This has happened FOREVER…just relax and enjoy the flipping show man.

My son said the tunnel scene was very different than the game. He said something about a bunch of dead kids on a blanket that somebody killed in the preschool.

I hoped you quit watching after they disgraced the VIDEO GAME!
Not sure where that came from as I think the show is great. Just pointing out that it isn't exactly like the game like some people are saying. My son said they shot a bunch of kids and left them on a blanket with a note or something in the game and it was pretty horrendous in that preschool tunnel.

I was making fun of the gamer nerds that are in disbelief the show isn’t an exact copy of the game. It’s like they’ve never read a book that was made into a movie.

I mean, if you like bullshit added to a story, I guess you'll take any story and slap a name on it. Let's make an old western movie with horses and cowboys and call it the justice league.

This wasn't just "oh it's not an exact copy." It put a bullshit woke gay love story in place of a legit part of the story. There hasn't been huge changes except for that.

I’m very sorry your video game wasn’t accurately portrayed. I also had no idea I was talking to a teenager, that’s my bad.

That gay episode was grotesque. Pure propaganda and there is no point in denying it. They went from wanting to be able to marry which is fine by me to wanting to be in your face with their choices in what seems like a day which is not ok by me. I don't like romantic scenes of any type as it seems dated. Nobody cares. I surely am not interested in two old dudes rubbing their balls together just like I am not interested in seeing a fat black woman stand on her head in a commercial. There is this overwhelming desire to put unattractive things in the spotlight now and dare you to not like them.

Neither like nor hate the ad, and I'm not purchasing the product either way, but I REMEMBERED the ad because of this lady. I can tell you it was for a Gatorade hydration product, and I remembered it because of this lady doing this. I couldn't tell you who else was in the commercial, but it got my attention because of what she did. The purpose of an ad is to get your attention and make you remember it. It does that for sure.

I'm so glad you got your gay love scene in the story. Guess you got all misty eyed and hard. I didn't realize I was talking to a lgbtqrstuv+!$/-& charter member.
Is it safe to watch episode 4? Is it woke? I’d rather watch gay porn than a male on male love story.
Guys, it was the third episode. There have been multiple episodes since. The only ones who won't let it go now are the ones who just want to bash gays and take cheap shots. You hate the perceived agenda you saw yet you're showing your own agendas here. I understand the complaints if it went away from a gaming storyline or something and no one says you must love every episode, but the above takes are junior high level trolling attempts. You hated the episode yet you want to talk about male porn, balls, and getting hard? Believe me, you guys have made it clear where you stand on that episode. Let's maybe move on so 80% of this thread just isn't older guys being uncomfortable and projecting at others.

Anyway, I'm not a gamer so while I understand some who've played the game want to nitpick a bit, I just see this season getting better and better. Not sure how this can be stretched out to several seasons but it's definitely another huge hit for HBO.

The stellar acting continues but damned if they ain't going to run out of characters.

All things considered, last night's episode was pretty dull.

Town sure looked like Jackson, WY, back in time. Just looked up where it was really shot - Canmore, AB. Then realized I'd driven through it from Calgary to Banff I think in 1989. No memory of the place. Beautiful area in the summer.

So they bumped some stuff along a bit, and another episode with no infected. However, they nailed "the talk" between Joel and ellie. Then the pay off of that at the university. Great episode.

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

Umm...yeah, but no. Why? If we're talking about someone to bang, then sure, that's a no brainer. Ad recognition? Nope. While she has a great body and is a track star, she doesn't stand out in appearance from three dozen or more other women like her who appear in ads throughout the day. On an individual basis, she's actually pretty forgettable, especially when she's in a generic outfit while jogging. She's like the dude in the same ad on a stationary bike. He's supposed to be some sort of celebrity, but to me he's just a dude on a stationary bike. The other woman? She's big, and she's touching balancing on her head. That makes the ad memorable.

You guys are in the wrong thread.

Watched the 1st episode finally. I know nothing of this series other than this thread. I'm hooked at least after 1.
Yeah, you may want to just skip over 3 as it's a commercial for grey balls on grey balls and has absolutely nothing to do with the actual show. Really a strange episode meant to be "provocative and brave" but is anything but(t).

Question about the last episode. When Joel saw those dudes from the window of that building, he saw they were armed with baseball bats. When he and Ellie were at the horse to make their getaway, why not just shoot them or at least shoot one as a warning to the others instead of physically engaging them?

If I remember correctly, I don't think he had time to shoot, as the attacker was already upon him when Ellie shouted. Pretty sure she had a gun as well. His back was turned, and the horse blocked her view of the attacker.
Before the actual attack I suppose Joel was trying to escape without alerting, risking others showing up.... perhaps with guns. Or maybe he is trying to avoiding having to kill any more than he needs to. As he seems to be struggling with these demons.
