The internet announcers: Matt Jones and Ravi Moss

MJ was better in the 2nd half and his halftime interview with Cal was miles better than last time. I agree that he talks just a bit too much but, as some have said, that's his radio (no dead-air) training coming thru.

Ravi is really great. Seems very personable and not so cookie-cutter as Baker....who I cannot stand by the way. Offer good insight and brings a sense of humor to his commentary. Very "real" if that makes any sense.

I'd like to hear more of MJ and especially Ravi. Al lot less of Baker would be just as good.

You may not believe it, buy that is not something I am jealous of in any way, shape or fashion. I have a friend who is well known in the financial community and he told me that the first time he ever went on TV for an interview that he froze up and made a fool out of himself. I don't think I want to do the same![winking]

The funniest thing about Baker is that if you see him out in Lexington and talk to him, he's one of these guys who's kind of like a grumpy fan. I see him around sometimes and have done some things for WKYT, and every time I've spoken to him he comes off like CUT-NETS. Doesn't seem that impressed with Cal or basically the entire program. Saw him before the UofL game two years ago and we spoke for 90 seconds and he basically implied that we were going to get blown out.

You can hear flashes of it on the broadcasts where he starts on the free throw shooting and Cal's overemphasis on defense and basically all the stuff that older guys probably talk about in the country club locker rooms all over the Commonwealth.

That said, my major point was that Ravi is great and actually surprised me as to just how good he is. He deserves a much better gig and I hope he gets it. Heck, after suffering through the previous game and those terrible announcers Ravi was like listening to the old MNF crew. He is as good or better than the vast majority of the ESPN guys covering the games.

Never heard it. Don't feel like I have missed anything. The only time I hear him is when I am forced to...and then I reach for the remote. And I also don't like nails on chalkboard..

They where both fine. Their detailed knowledge of UK was first rate and not play actting like most others.

For one, who the hell listens to radio talk shows these days?

Number 2, nobody outside of some UK fans living in KY have ever heard of the guy. So yeah, it's a little radio show.

I could start a radio show discussing UK basketball and have the top rated radio show in KY. That's all it takes, mention UK basketball and people listen.

I listen to talk radio and apparently so do millions of others.
MJ gets interviews with major sports writers and pundits so, I'd say people outside of KY have heard of him.
You should definitely do that radio talk show then. Your talents are being wasted as a messageboard commentator.

His fanboys sure are a strange bunch. I could say I hate anyone, at any time, and I wouldn't hear that. With Matt jones, it's jealousy.....strange strange fanboys he has.

I don't care about jones but his voice is horrible. If he enjoys his career that's great.

It's funny how some on here don't like the word "jealous" but when you say "most people" the guilty conscious will sub consciously take offense to it haha.
 
I thought Moss and Jones were great. Of course, some people are always going to complain. I wish they could call more home games throughout the year. It's a breath of fresh air, really.
