During the football regular season the Cats Illustrated 3-2-1 belonged to Mark Stoops' program. Here we shift gears and shine the spotlight on John Calipari's bunch, which is benefitting from more practice time and a slower game schedule.

As usual, the format is as follows: Three things we've learned, two things we're asking, one bold prediction.

Because everyone is waiting to see if they are for real or just beating up on cupcakes which makes them seem for real. The good thing is these next slate of games will answer these questions. They have a great chance to show the world who they really are at this point in the season

Interesting read,I think there are several questions that will be answered in the next 3 games

1.How will this team react when they need a basket or a stop inside the last 3 minutes?

2.How will this team handle pressure on the ball by a team that has similar athletic ability?

3.Can this team stay focused for 40 minutes in a close game?

Who needs/wants to be on the floor when the chips are down?

UK's schedule has been pathetic to this point. Also, it's not like they are blowing these crappy teams out either.

Kenpom rankings:

Vermont - 72
KU - 7
ETSU - 126
Troy - 160
Ft. Wayne - 174
UIC - 226
Harvard -153
Monmouth - 151

The next few games gets much better - VA Tech (#31), UCLA (47), UL (28) so maybe then we will get a sense for what this team is.

And honestly we're not really beating those cupcakes THAT bad. Kenpom has us at 14th currently.

That said the next 3 games will tell us a little more. None of those teams are ranked but they're all tourney teams at the very least.

No more pathetic than some of the other top teams schedules.

You sound awfully whiny about it

Look at our previous years schedule on the same site.

This is no different than any other year.

Are you a teenager? Your posts lead me to believe you are one that punches himself in the face, daily.

Personally I think this schedule has been perfect for this young team to develop. I will trust Cal with the schedule. I remember the former coach at U of L once saying that if a coach allows an AD to fix his schedule he will be out of a job. There is plenty of time to prove who we are.

Our in conference will be much tougher than previous years. We will have ample opportunity for quality wins in the SEC this year.
