Didn't watch the game was out Christmas shopping but according to the stats there was a technical foul? Who was it on and what did they do but I figure Adams was the one that called it. Was it warranted?

UL had one for a player swatting the ball in to the front row.

Edwards got one for making the too small gesture with his fingers(thumb and middle)

Called it on Edwards after he was fouled on an And 1. He made a gesture and they T’d him up.

How you make that with your index and middle???
I think it was actually index and thumb. Either way, that gesture is made all the time. Why is the way he made it a technical and the way Tre and Dilly always do it (did multiple times during this game) with just pushing their hand down not a technical? I guess the way Edwards did it just looked goofier or something or maybe more provacative because he was motioning right at the Louisville guy?

Im guessing because it was in an open space right in front of the official. Most times players do it bending down pushing hand towards the floor

Exactly I guess the difference was like you said, right at the guy, otherwise no clue

Yeah I think that's it. Right in the line of view for the official and directed right at the Louisville player so guess that's why.

Dillingham did it a couple times. Hunter Dickinson does it all the time.

Edwards is the only one I’ve seen called for it.

I don’t really know where these “too small” gestures originated… but I see them frequently now and find them to be incredibly lame all the way around. Would prefer our guys drop that habit. Frankly they look silly doing it.

I first saw it when we played at Georgia and it was Anthony Edwards in 2020. They thought they had won at halftime and of course we came back and won. That's where it originated for me.
