Stoops to Auburn Speculation is EVERYWHERE now!

Lol, I live in the south and haven't heard one mention of Stoops to Auburn

He was a name mentioned very early in the hiring process. This is all per Bunker, Stoops was one of 10-15 names mentioned. They trimmed it down to around 5, Prime Time, who was the favorite for a week or so and suddenly was an afterthought, Lane Kiffin who shot to the top, still there and they feel is a done deal, Hugh Freeze, because he beat Bama and is a willing cheater, Dan Lanning because they feel he can bring all of UGA's staff and Matt Rhule, because 4 have turned them down.

Mark Stoops is represented by Jimmy Sexton. That alone is a pretty elite and powerful circle. As long as he is having a decent year he will always be whispered / listed / mentioned as candidates for perceived better jobs. It’s a business , never forget that. There are always behind the scenes leveraging scenarios happening that 99.9% of fans will never know.

Think Auburn fans would like Stoops fb as long as they win. He would "maybe" be able to recruit better to what he needs to play the methodical, low scoring, defensive mindset that is Mark Stoops. Time will tell. Still think it'll be Kiffin or Freeze.

I think Kiffin desperately wants to beat Saban. He has lost all 3 times as the Ole Miss HC. He knows he missed a golden opportunity this season, and since he became the OM HC he has seen Smart and Fisher beat Saban, and this season Kelly and Heupel have beaten Saban, in their first and second seasons respectively. That has to be eating at him. He will think long and hard on whether Auburn or Ole Miss gives him the best opportunity to beat Saban. I don't think money will be the driving issue as both schools are willing to open the bank. It will come down to where he beieves he can recruit the talent to beat Saban, and that would seem to be Auburn.
