Embarrassing to say this least and for 9 mill a year………4 wins and only 1 vs a real opponent says it all.

The biggest problem is do we think stoops can fix this?? I just don’t think so, would love to eat crow but we change OCs like a teenage girl does clothes. If we can’t get that right then the OL as well, I just don’t know if stoops can fix it or even wants to with how the NIL & transfer portal doesn’t seem to fit his style.

Yes, the biggest problem is that this is a trend and Stoops has shown no ability to turn it around. A coach that stays somewhere 15 years (not named Saban) is going to have down years. It happens. But quitting on a program and acting like you’re too good to earn $9 million can’t be rectified. It’s over

This is the sad reality of our situation right now. So, as fans we just have to hope he ACTUALLY does the things to turn this around, or gets sick of the criticism and leaves, because I have an EXTREMELY hard time seeing another school hiring him.

This. Stoops has all the freedom in the world to talk to other teams. It did not violate his contract because cals had special stipulations about contacting other teams (which turned out, completely saved us)

We will have more of the same this summer following misses on the portal. It will be I hate x or y or z. Excuse after excuse. Next year will be worse as far as I can foresee (which i cannot). Just tired of this staff. Tired of bad football again already. Tired of the 3 to 4 built in wins to get him over the hump on most years. We need to have games against better competition instead of MAC, MAC, Ohio Valley, UofL and SEC. I can see 1 MAC the rest should be power 4 teams. If we are going to lose we need to at least have teams in here to show how bad it is.

There's a clause in his contract that triggers a separate $10M buyout for his assistants. And White and Marrow aren't staying without him. So you're talking over $50M to start new with a new staff.

IIRC, the buyout doesn't decrease by much the next couple years either. I looked up his buyout details a while back and don't remember exactly what it was.

What the hell are you on about? He not only coached here with great success, he played here as well. I have it on decent authority he was contacted during the TAMU debacle and was all but named coach.

And don't get me started on his coaching record. The man is 32-6 as a coach and has Tulane nearly in the playoff in year 1!

The only reason he won't be here next year is becuase our AD is a coward who cares more about rifle and volleyball than football.
