No disrespect to the older guys, but the top LB's have been more recent. LB U. You could list Dupree (had 91 tackles in 2012) and Allen as linebackers, but both played Edge and LB. But you could make a case for both being LB's. If you did, that is 7 stout players in recent years.

1. Those are all Brooks and later....so you're basically ignoring all the players for Mumme (and his defenses were so terrible I can agreeO, Morris, Curry, Claiborne, Morris, Curci, Collier, Bear, etc....

- Jim Kovach was 2nd best defensive player on the 1977 Peach bowl team (maybe 2nd best UK team of all time behind 1952 Cotton bowl team) being only the legendary Art Still. And is UK all time tackler at 521 tackles. Played 7 NFL seasons after UK

- Marty Moore....is 4th leading tackler all time with 462 in UK history. Best player on the usually offensive awful Bill Curry teams....but the defense were solid units.

My Mount Rushmore of Linebackers (not counting the outside pass rusher Lbers)
- Jim Kovach....2nd best player in best UK defense ever
- Wesley Woodyard (best defensive players on those Brooks teams that got UK from a joke program to respectable program....especially defensively)
- Marty Moore
- Danny Trevethan....(2 time all SEC...led SEC in tackles twice)
