Asked Marques Bolden's father about a decision during the early signing period: "No plans at this time." Five-star big man.

Probably making sure some of the Kansas big men clear out.

I bet you Self holds Carlton Bragg back. Retaining Bragg is one of the two major keys to their season in 2016-2017. If he for some reason he leaves early, Kansas will be in trouble next season.

This is precisely why getting Diallo eligible is so huge for Self this season. If Diallo can't go, it means more minutes for Bragg, and he would have to be showcased and potentially leave after his first season.

With only one five star probably coming to Kansas, that means KU's frontline would be rather pedestrian.

Hold Bragg back? Since when was Bragg considered a one-and-done?

He was a five star and was considered a potential OAD in high school; albeit, with an outside chance to bolt after one year. At Kentucky, he'd at least be a threat to leave after a single season.

But you're right, the second he picked the Jayhawks, all that disappeared.

RSCI 22. Believe he was a 4 star. Not as highly ranked as returning senior Poythress or returning junior Lee.

Just like you guys lead for Monk and Fox?

I never said we lead. I said Kansas had a shot at both and felt that Monk would pick KU (so I guess that can be an "inferred" lead).

Has he publicized an announcement date? I've seen "by Friday" bounced around here.

On par with Lee. Poythress had the business of a torn ACL to contend with. He was a projected first round pick after his freshman year, but chose to return. His second year, he was buried behind top 20 picks in Young and Randle. That said, hopefully he'll turn out to have half the five star career such as guys like Ellis or Seldon.

One can only hope.

@KnowsAllTellsAll doesn't know as much as he/she wishes he/she did. I bet Allen doesn't end up at KU and neither will Fox or Monk. Kansas isn't going to have a great 2016 recruiting class.

We may just lead for Azubuke. I'll take a class of Azubuke and Allen for our post in a heartbeat.

With the way Ku's recruiting has gone lately, i'm sure you would. I wouldn't expect it, if i were you. Ku and Self should be able to recruit both guys and land them. It's not like Ku has a bunch of talented big men on the current roster. I hope you guys can get at least one. I hate to see Ku not make the tourney. I enjoy watching you guys flame out earlier than you're supposed to. It's a lot of fun.

I don't think Kansas really has the backcourt to contend this year, both guards are mediocre, the frontcourt is decent, diallo will.be good if he is eligible, Ellis the only time I have watched him play...poythress shut him down completely, hopefully Bragg will be good for them, but I see more of an Alexander type role coming for him..

***He was not a 4-star but he was a 5-star ranked in like the mid-teens.

Some of those would be OAD's, but when Bragg committed to Kansas with Perry Ellis already at the "4" it was pretty obvious that he was already indicating that he'd be ok to consider going 2AD.

****Bragg is definitely NOTHING LIKE Alexander.

self must have one of the worst personalities on the planet. ku leads for everyone year after year and yet so many other schools finish ahead of ku in the rankings. self that big of a dick? i dont get it.

Simmons, Hield, and Dunn would all start at UK right now.

Hield and Dunn would BOTH easily start over Briscoe (EASILY) if either one of them were on our team, and Simmons would 100% be our starting 4 man.

Come on now.

Yeah. Bragg has better perimeter skills.

Yeah, I know there games are different, I just don't see self developing him like he did nothing for Alexander's game...I don't know if it's where manning left or what, but there big guys just don't play at the level they used to...

That's because Danny Manning isn't there anymore.

I have seen him play in person while in HS. He was ranked top 10 for some time and have a brochure at one tournament he was in that was calling him the 7th best player in the 2015 class.

He has potential to be very good. Excellent passer from the key and can dribble pretty good and can rebound when he puts his mind to it. Not a selfish player by no means and is always looking for an open teammate to score the ball.
He's not flashy but is an nba level talent.
I've seen thousands of prospects over the years and know nba talent when I see one. If he performs well I could see him being drafted early of late 20's. Not a lottery level player.
Of all the guys I've seen that were 2015 graduates is say I'd put him 12-15 range. If he could hit outside shots more I'd move him top 10.
I liked him more than Diallo in half court games. Open court is where Diallo shines.

love posts like this. you act as if you actually have a choice between multiple big men. of course you will take it...if you dont...what else would you get?

Mitch Lightfoot. That's what they have right now. He's a top 100-125 player. I'd give Kansas a slight lead on Bolden ATM just because there's less competition for him there than at Duke or Kentucky. They seem to be running second at best for Allen behind Kentucky.

Frank Mason as a junior will be good. At worst, you'd think he'll be what he was last season. Devonte Graham should be better as a sophomore than he was as a freshman (although we could have said the same for Wayne Selden). Question there is how big a step forward does he take? With Selden, you wonder if he finally begins to live up to the 5 star ranking he had out of high school. Same for Greene who was a consensus four star. Mykhailiuk appears to be nothing but hype. I hear how good he's supposed to be (and maybe he'll get there some day), but I haven't seen it.

If Diallo doesn't gain eligibility, they need to hope Carlton Bragg is ready to be very good and that he and Perry Ellis can stay out of foul trouble. Mickelson, Traylor and Lucas can be serviceable for short spurts, but I wouldn't want to rely on them for major minutes.
