So when does Monk climb aboard?

April, right after Murray, Ulis and Briscoe announce their intentions to enter the NBA Draft.

Fox replaces Murray..........If Ulis and Briscoe return, don't look for Monk to be here.
I know that Monk is top 5, but 4/5 5*'s at guard is a lot.

I doubt both of Ulis and Briscoe return. If so it will have been a long season with less than desired results.

Monk is the last piece to the puzzle. We really need him. Not going to say he is a necessity, because this time last year I thought Newman was a necessity and now we don't even miss him.

But if we get Monk, we are set. Anyone else would be icing on the cake, but we really need another elite guard. Monk is the best available.

The lineup would be pretty much complete, with two scholarships to add some more talent to augment the team.

Starters
G Fox
G Monk
F Gabriel
F Killeya-Jones
F Humphries

Bench
G Hawkins
G Mulder
G Matthews
F Willis
F Wynyard
G Floreal

I love that lineup and would be ECSTATIC about the talent level and athleticism; however, starting 4 freshman and one sophomore is eerily reminiscent of the '13 year when we had the twins, young, randle, and Stein starting. That team lost a bunch of games and got hot at the right time. Just sayin' that expectations for the season would need to be tempered a bit. Although the talent level would be extraordinary, I hope we wouldn't have anyone bringing up 40-0 talk.

Briscoe will be a stud by march. He all ready has NBA body and NBA handles. Soon as he puts it all together HE GONE.It will be this season he puts it all together.

I think we add Monk or Simmons if we lose Ulis/Briscoe and add another big if we lose Lee. Going to be an interesting and much less stressful spring with a few focused targets. Hopefully Cal can spend some time focusing on juniors - that's what Duke will be doing since they are pretty much through for the year other than Bolden.

Briscoe is at least a 3 year player. Both the Harrisons were leaps and bounds better than him. If you guys get Monk, fingers crossed he comes to KU, Briscoe will come off the bench.

YOUR AN IDIOT!!!! HASRISONS ARE IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM AS GOOD AS BRISCOE LOL YOU ARE TRULY IGNORANT!!!

BRISCOE WOULD START FOR KANSAS RIGHT NOW AND OH YEAH YOUR NOT GETTING MONK JUST LIKE YOU DIDNT GET FOX!!! PERIOD!!!

Yeah, he's another Frank Mason or Devonte Graham. Two years from today --probably a lot sooner--Briscoe will have played more NBA games than those two ever will.

Frank Mason and Devonte Graham probably don't have a future in the NBA. Briscoe will have the opportunity to play in the NBA, if he is patient and lets Calipari develop him. You are letting your bias fog your glasses to his actual play on the court.

How many guards have stayed 3 years since Cal got here? Take your time. Come back when you have a long list...

Briscoe has played in two pre-season games and I think played very well. Cal has already reined in some of his bad habits. It's ridiculous for you to proclaim him a three year player at this juncture. None of us thought Booker would be a OAD at the beginning of last year, and he ended up being a freaking lottery pick.

Lol at Uliis/ Briscoe staying! THEY GONE!!
How is Ulis gona after this year a lock? He's going to be a second rounder( not gaurenteed money) no matter what year he comes out. His stock won't get any higher but I don't see it getting any lower. So why not stay at UK, work on your game, win multiple national championships, enjoy the college experience while you can because you only get that one chance. Once you leave you can never be a college athlete again. He could also break all the point guard records. He could also get his degree so when his NBA career is over he can have something else to fall back on. He could probably get his degree in 3 years

Andrew should have. Hawkins? Do you really, objectively, watch Briscoe and think one and done?

I'm not sure if he's one and done or not. He's played two exhibition games so the sample size is small. I do know that NBA scouts like his game, he is projected as a top 20 pick. If that's the case he will go.

Here's the reason. You only have so many years to make NBA money and the sooner you get to the league the more earning potential you have.

Briscoe is very very confident in his abilities and has an NBA body right now and NBA handles. He sees himself as one and done, I am 99% sure he goes after this season.

Briscoe is a man-child. He may decide to stay another season, who knows considering UK hasn't played a regular season game yet. Physically he is ready. Wait until he plays a real game before spouting off. Oh and, you already told more than you know...it seems that is why you are spouting. Don't worry. You'll have a good team too...[eyeroll]

Yep, that's all that matters, not what some random Kansas fan thinks about him. He's projected top 20 right now and has great size, strength, and handles for a PG. If he displays the basketball IQ I think he has this year then he is projection will not fall and he will be gone. Honestly, all those factors plus the fact that he wants to be OAD is a great indicator of what he will do after the season.

Isaiah Briscoe, 6-3 Fr. G (Draft Express, No. 18, 2016)

“He needs to stay in school. His perimeter shooting must improve. He is strong and will be able to use that to his advantage to be successful in college.”

That said, I think he's not ready to go pro after one year. I've been wrong before - see my Fox prediction. :)

yes but if you are a second rounder you aren't gaurenteed any money meaning maybe you only make 50,000 to 100,000 in your whole bball career. Then what are you going to do after that, you don't have a degree. I understand first rounders leaving but if you are a second round draft pick you have no business leaving early unless your family is in desperate need of money IMO
