so how much money would it realistically cost to watch uk duke in the united center

na best tickets online is about 750 a piece so you can go sell a few rocks kwilt and be there...lol, but to make the trip happen in a big way from lexington I'm thinking about 500 a piece

Standing room only going for $50.
Behind the goal up top $100
Behind the goal lower $400
Side top $250
Side Middle $500
Down low $750
All per ticket. Outrageous but because it's UK vs. Duke within driving distance of Kentucky.

Cal's right we are crazy!!:scream:

Find a KU or MSU fan, buy a pair up high and pair down low, switch seats while you game is over, split the overall cost 50/50.

Wouldnt catch me dead in Chicago. Talk about unsafe with zero protection.

Not my family.
Have you been? It just depends on where you go as to how safe you feel. IMO of course. I found Chicago to be a good city. I only ventured in the downtown area and enjoyed the experience.

I've been to Chicago a few times. Never felt unsafe at all, but it's been over a decade since I've been. Has it gotten bad?

We went last year and it was great.... I live in Central Illinois. This year ticket prices are way up...

Not dangerous at all , setting at 405 murders this year , going to be up from a total of 426 last year .

According to the neighborhood scout link Cincy is more dangerous than Chicago. Not that I wouldnt venture to the Windy city but a significant portion of the city isnt safe .

You could say that about every large city in America. But either way, I would absolutely go to the game and feel 100% safe doing it.

LMAO! Might want to double check that one.

It's not.

If you don't feel comfortable taking your family to a 7PM basketball game at the United Center, which isn't even in a bad part of Chicago, then that is BEYOND pathetic.

You'll be indoors, inside a secured facility with police and security at every gate and every section, and you'll park across the street.

Good lord, the pu$$ification of America is on full display right there

Ha, I was warned by locals not to venture in Louisville as your safety is at risk during the day. They called it a mini-Chicago.

And I would agree, especially with Petrino and Pitino roaming the streets. More dangerous for women for sure.

I guess it depends on your comfort zone.

The are parts of every city that you don't want to be in at certain times. Chicago is perfectly fine for going to the game and for staying Downtown. We will be there for two nights in order to have dinner at Shaws.

Is anyone actually going? I'm traveling to Chicago on business every week or two for the foreseeable future. I thought about trying to go, but tickets are crazy. I usually stay around Joliet, but I've never been downtown to a game.

I work in Joliet. I just can't justify the prices they are charging for the CC. I've been to a few Bulls games, and unless you have premium lower level seats, the United Center is a piss poor basketball watching experience.

Oh, please don't say that. My lil brother just took a new job with NCSA Scouts in Chicago. Moved up there last week over by DePaul University and started the job yesterday. I have been a bit concerned about safety.

Don't miss out on life being afraid. I have taken my family to Chicago many times and I have 5 girls including my wife! It's a great city. We have enjoyed NYC including riding the subway everyday, LA, San Francisco, Dublin Ireland, Paris (rode the train and the underground everywhere) , London (took the Tube everywhere we went), Rome, Hong Kong, Beijing, all safely by being aware of our surroundings, staying in groups, watching our valuables. I'd say the riskiest place was New Orleans for the Final Four for our win! The streets were filled with Cardinals and Jayhawks (and a few Buckeyes). Come on get out and see the world! My oldest daughter lives in Changchun China, up near Russia and my 23 year old just returned from Morocco! YOU NEED TO GO TO CHICAGO! Great city!

I had 5th row, right behind Magic Johnson, for the 2014 opener vs MSU.

$1000 a piece (4 tickets)

Don't worry about it. I've never had a bad experience there. In fact I've only had good experiences.

Good! Sounds like there are alot who have had great experiences there from all the comments. He is working downtown and from all the reviews, it seems like he is in a safe neighborhood of the city. Riding the subway and trans system will take some getting used to for him. It was too good an opportunity for him and he will be in Chicago at least a year.

Chicago is a great city as long as you stay away from the South Side. Wrigleyville and the Lakeshore area are amazing (except for the cubs). The Unite Center is perfectly safe. However, tickets will kill you. Super expensive. $750 for a lower? :scream:

You can get a lower for about $225 right now. The only way Chicago isn't safe is if you're an African American selling drugs on the south side of the city. Pretty much all the violent crimes in Chicago are black v black and involve drug sales.
