Should we go back to the platoon system?

Just looking at the minutes in regulation for the last 2 games, 5 of the guys are getting platoon-like minutes (15-25 min). 4 players have had their numbers go up or down. The twins are now averaging 30 min/game, while Lee and Johnson are down to around 9 min/game.

That is really only one 4 minute segment of guys playing more than they would if we ran a straight 9 man platoon system. Even at that, most of the guys on the floor should be fresh.

If nothing else, I would say that as we have had over-time games, it has helped us.

Our defense against a&m was great, I don't get why people are complaining about it.
We turned it up in the second half. The game started out pretty bad, though, and the first 15 minutes or so looked eerily similar to Ole Miss.

Two things I've noticed about the two games.

One is we're not switching as cleanly as we did. Probably not communicating as well, and so we're just a notch behind when early in the season we switched like a machine on virtually every screen.

And secondly as Payne said yesterday, teams are just driving us straight down the lane. The help has been slow for the most part. In the Ole Miss game it was nonexistent.

I obviously agree that you have to start with the offense when you look at things Kentucky needs to improve, but there are other things going on right now that are hurting us in other areas. They're even struggling to grab loose balls, which wasn't happening at all early on.

If it's not broke DO NOT fix it!!! I love Cal but his stubborn commitment to nailing things down to a 7 man rotation drives me insane. Just watch...that's where he's headed.
