SEC Network/ESPN analyst Seth Greenberg is a long time friend of Kentucky coach John Calipari and even worked Calipari's Fantasy Camp again in the Bahamas last week.

He also provided a ton of on-air promotion for Calipari's Wildcats during UK's four exhibition games. He tried to explain the perception of Calipari is not always accurate.

"He's going to coach his guys hard. He's not afraid to coach them. He is kind of the Ringling Bros./Barnum & Bailey of college basketball because he sees such a big picture and he's so progressive. But he's so accessible," Greenberg said on air.

"You see him walking around. He talks and takes pictures with everyone. He has time for everyone. He hardly ever says no. People don't understand. He really genuinely cares about the Commonwealth, the players, the community and obviously the university."

Calipari is a marketing genius. Never doubt that. His UK telethons have raised millions of needed dollars but also given a huge promotional boost to the image of Kentucky basketball. He's convinced NBA scouts to basically have a preseason combine at UK to showcase his players' skills.

And whether it is NBA draft or anything else, Calipari gets more national TV and radio time than any other major college basketball coach.

"He's a big picture guy. He's a trendsetter. He thinks so far out the box," Greenberg said on air to give even more credibility to Calipari's big picture thinking.

I think more he stays at UK, the national preception will change.

He's doing too many good thing and it'll slowly catch on.
