Seeding- your own thoughts

I will be surprised if we are not the lowest ranked 5 seed playing the highest rated and hottest 12 seed. TV loves them some UK fan drama.

They may have been but I don't remember anyone going into that tournament picking them to win it. The committee helped them that season and screwed west Virginia.

How did West Virginia get screwed other than Duke blowing them out at the Final Four? They had their shot.

Ok updated after yesterday’s results:

1 Bama, Kansas, Houston, UCLA
2 Purdue, Texas, Arizona, Baylor
3 Gonzaga, Kansas St, Marquette, UCONN
4 Tennessee, St Mary’s, Xavier, Indiana
5 Duke, SDSU, Virginia, Texas A&M
6 Miami, FAU, Creighton, Northwestern
7 Missouri, Iowa St, Kentucky, Maryland
8 Michigan St, NC St, Illinois, TCU
9 WVU, Memphis, Boise St, Penn St
10 Arkansas, Auburn, Nevada, ASU
11 Providence, USC

Last 4 in: Pittsburgh, Iowa, Utah St, Miss St,

Just missed: Vandy, Rutgers, UNC, Wisconsin, Oklahoma St, Clemson

Waffled on whether Duke will get the 4 over Indiana so wouldn’t be surprised. Then the committee can give them Greensboro.

If Penn St or Memphis win today they could move up a line.

Purdue vs UCLA for the last 1 seed.

I got this

1 Alabama, Houston, Kansas, Purdue
2 Texas, Arizona, UCLA, Marquette
3 Baylor, Gonzaga, Kansas State, Connecticut
4 Tennessee, Indiana, Xavier, Duke

I am torn on Duke vs Virginia for final 4 spot just depends on how much the committee values the ACC tournament and the health of Duke during their losses.

That was where Kentucky could have ended up had we made the SEC Final I think we could got that last 4 spot.

West Virginia should have been the 1 seed in that tournament. They got put in our region as a 2.

Before this Quad mess there was RPI. Before the conference tournaments started that season (which both won) Duke’s RPI was 2nd and WVU 6th. They had the golden stage to make their argument and lost to Duke 78-57. Syracuse got their seed and they got it despite a key injury to their big man who never did return in the Tournament. (Butler took out Cuse)
