SEC+, What is the verdict?

watched on panasonic hdtv from espn app on my ipad via hdmi adapter. picture quality was as good as watching normal tv except i lost it once for about 15 seconds. i have twc and have been doing this for the past two or three years but previous to last night i used my laptop. ipad is much easier.

Used the WatchESPN app on my phone to 2 different chromecasts around the house. A couple of quality drops, but they didn't last long. Overall, the picture was fantastic.

SEC+ needs more advertisers though, because DUM DUM DUM. DUM DUM DUM. WGHAAAAAAAAA DUM DUM DUM. I hate Joseph Gordon Levitt now.

I understand some people having issues with it (especially people with slow internet or older people). I just think people should get use to this (and maybe other content they like to consume) going online in the future.

Get a Roku, AppleTV or Chromecast and test it out. You can get any of those for under $100 and easily get content on your TV. My AppleTV worked perfectly last night. You also get easy access to other content for you, your wife, kids, grandkids, etc.

We are only getting more high-tech so you'll see more things like this in the future.

The main problem with a lot of people is that they don't have access to a good internet feed. I live in an area that is not serviced by cable and the only speed I can get with AT&T is DSL light. I have Exede satellite internet but the speed is not great with it and I am limited to 10 GB per month and then the speed slows to a creep. On AT&T wireless I only have about 2 bars. We don't have any other options. None of that is fast enough to stream live feed. I'm sure a lot of people in rural areas have the same problem. They are losing a lot of viewers for their advertising.

In case this may help anyone else out there with their current hardware or future purchases:

WatchESPN runs best on my Xbox One, followed by my Roku 2 (~2012), followed by my Apple TV 3.

Whenever there is some signal loss or a buggy feed, the Xbox recovers almost instantaneously.

TIFWIW

I watched on an old Xbox 360 that I use strictly for streaming Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, MLB.TV, HBOGo, Watch ESPN and others. Xbox 360 are pretty cheap and there are plenty of them available everywhere used. I haven't ever played a video game on it. It worked great last night, i have TWC 30 meg internet. The quality was far superior to the SEC alternate in SD that TWC offers.
