ROWAN “R.J.” BARRETT – Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL); 2019 SG; 6’-6”; 185 lbs; 247Sports doesn’t rank 9th graders – R.J. has to be one of the top Frosh, starting for the #1 high school teams in the country. His stats for these 4 games are not to be believed. Shot 30 for 49 (61%), averaging 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2.5 turnovers, and 2 steals per game. Only shot 7 3’s for the 4 games, preferring to take it into the lane, stopping & popping or finishing at the hole. Does not hog the ball and finds open teammates. I have no idea what schools he has interest in at this point, but I can almost guarantee that Calapari has strong interest in him. If possible, he should be working towards re-classifying during his Junior year.
