R.I.P. Denny, may you and Joe B. lead the best basketball talk show in the heavens.Used to hate him. Became a fan after he retired.
Some of the few Stalwarts of the best eras of college basketball are gone.Joe B and Denny both being gone leaves me feeling some type of way. Real end of era type stuff. Sad day.
Most are gone. Hard to believe Lou Carnesseca is 98. Norm Stewart is a relatively young 88.Some of the few Stalwarts of the best eras of college basketball are gone.
More importantly he did not go back to UCLA. They would be at 13 plus if he did.Life goes so fast. I remember watching this man coach on the sidelines when I was a kid. He seemed like a good man, and he was a fantastic coach in his day. He took a city school and made them a top 6 or 7 program nationally.
That sounds like Jed Smock in the late 1980s early 90sYou know when I was at UK in the early 2000s there was a man named David McCracken who often came to the "free speech area" near then Student Center (also RIP to both) who was head pastor of the Lafayette Church of the Nazarene at the time and I kid you not he looked just like Denny Crum!
Sex, drugs and rock n roll. That sounds like Jed Smock in the late 1980s early 90s
i did not know until espn aired it, that he won 2 national titles...
Swappin stories and talkin ball reeling in some bluegill. Can't get much better than that.Denny and Joe B are fishin' in heaven right now.
I’d say that somewhere along the line, he sat down with his inner circle and shared a hearty laugh at how that turned out.Was a great coach. Still feel sorry for how he got pushed out to make way for Pitino.
Hadn‘t missed one all season. The ball went in and out.Never forget in 1975 when Terry Howard missed the free throw, could have been U of L and Cats for national championship.
The man owned the 80's for the most part, was a good coach and even better person.Used to hate him. Became a fan after he retired.
Yeah shit yeah that man had it rolling at one time. He was Louisville basketball. It's almost like Cal. The first half of Crums tenure he was on fire and then the 2nd half of it he didn't embrace the 3 point shot and the game passed him by. He was a hell of a recruiter as well in the earlier years. Then like a lot of coaches do he embraced success and quit working as hard. The recruiting dropped off in a big way.Yeah, I read an article that he went to 6 final fours in a 15 year stretch from 71 to 86 or so. I knew about the 2 titles but didn't know the final 4 count was so high.
