Reseeding a lawn

So... looking into reseeding my yard. Any way to kill the old grass and weeds without using round up or plastic. I hear gas and a match works well.

Mow your grass as low as your mower will go, then spray Roundup, wait several days, then Roundup again. Remove thatch and powerseed

...but you are OK to pour gasoline on your yard; got it.

roundup and similar products are just a saltwater combination.

here is an idea, mix up several gallons of saltwater brine and pour that on your yard.

seriously, no need to kill everything. just wait until this fall and aerate (plug type), winterize, and overseed. use good quality seed; do not skimp on that and also a quality winter fertilizer. whatever the area to be seeded, double the amount of seed. Rebels is a good seed.
