While everyone is trying to say that UK's class is/may be in limbo, If you look at the Rivals 150 top 10 recruits. 2 of the 10 have picked a school and both are Kentucky. Thats right, the only college school who is even listed on the committed list out to the right is Kentucky and we are there TWICE. Its early, and we have Cal. Relax, no worries. ....Duke only has 1, and he is ranked 25th.

Lets not forget....we have a roster filled with players who aren't sure fire lotto picks...we only may need 3-5 guys to fill slots.

I just wish this forum wasn’t so bipolar. When news that Cal was reaching out to so many people got around you would’ve thought we had commitments from them all if you read this forum. Now the sky is falling. We will get ours but I just wish everyone could stay more grounded and not bounce from extreme to extreme.

This could end up like the year that we struck out on Zimmerman, Newman, Brown and others. Hoping it doesn't happen, but it sort of has that same feel to it. Cal was involved with so many top players then too.

Some of these guys are waiting on our current front court.. but more importantly, they're waiting on what other bigs from the class are doing.

Some of these guys may choose elsewhere.. but then the remaining bigs will see the opening at Kentucky.. for the same reason Duke is going to start getting sub30 recruits: playing time.

Yes that ‘15 class was a bunch of psychos. We all thought we would get an absolutely loaded class, and should have had all 3 of those kids, but as we know now there was big time negative recruiting going on behind the scenes. At times those 3 were considered near locks, maybe not Brown but from the need we had and the schools he listed it just seemed like a no brainer. Then he chose Cal out of left field (Cuonzo). The one guy we thought we lost out on was Murray, and that’s the one guy we ended up with. And thank the stars for that as we desperately needed him and would’ve been NIT bound without him.

Negative recruiting? That is when rampant cheating was going on at a lot of schools and dudes were getting paid.

We had two Top 10 kids committed by October of that year? [eyeroll]

No way. These other programs are all under a microscope right now. In other words, they can't purchase players and/or cheat.

UK would've have already locked up their class but the problem is not knowing "for sure" who is leaving. With a lot of this class wanting to decide in the fall it's really difficult to convince them there will be a spot for them by faith. Even if they start to buy in the other schools bring up scenarios where UK doesn't lose who they think they'll lose & therefore safer to choose their school. It's an uphill battle.

Everyone knows Travis is graduating this year so every big in America knows for certain that there will be at least one for sure opening at the 4-5. Generally speaking you are correct about most other positions.

LOL yeah that ain';t happening . I am not worried one iota but UK is going to need to sign a 8-9 man class as we are for sure losing Travis , PJ , EJ , Richards , Johnson and at least 1 if not 2 or 3 of the guards. ONly Baker is for sure coming back. Maybe green as well .

So we need to sign 2-3 guards ( 1 already done ) 2 SF ( DONE! ) and 4 PF/C types . IMO I could see a class of Maxey / guard to be named later / guard to be named later / Allen/Whitney/Mcdaniels / Wiseman / Carey or Stewart / Igehion or Oscar T or another guy we aren't thinking of / as our class.

There is zero reason to worry about recruiting . And especially because this could be Cal's best year so even if we have a down year next year where we lose 9 games and are a 4 seed so be it . We still will be a force come March. Maxey and Whitney alone would make any team a top 15 team.

N'faly Dante will be apart of that 2019 class, he is probably the second best big in high school, if not already the best.. He is from out of the same place that Deandre Ayton came from and will remind of a more athletic Dakari Johnson..
