The thing I read said resides in Gainsville but don't know if he is actually from there.

those two bogus calls need to be sent to the league office. those were embarrassingly bad

I'm starting to wonder if 40-0 is starting to pose a threat to some.

His account on Twitter has not been used since 2013, but it appears he likes Billy Donovan.

Looks like some things may be starting to come to light.

I don't recall hearing his name before; however, he is a very poor official. Go Cats!!

Did Shey call the ball off Kentucky in regulation where Caruso threw it off of us? I replayed it several times and it looked like Caruso stepped out of bounds before throwing it. Interesting that the other two out of bounds plays it was called wrong both times in favor of Texas A&M. If Caruso were out of bounds before he threw it, that would make three times.

Haven't seen that one on replay yet.

Posted Brian's picture in another thread but he needs to remembered, man, this guy was as shady as it gets.

How many out of bounds calls did they get wrong, 3 or 4? You can argue bad foul call all day long in about every game, and this game had it's share of them, but how do you miss the out of bounds calls. They would have all been extra possessions for UK, how many possible extra points could that have been?

That's IMPOSSIBLE!!

The SEC just released a picture of Brian Shey this morning and he looks like this:

Yep. That photo screams "I"M BEST FRIENDS WITH BILLY D!"

That officiating was the worst I have seen all season. One sided as hell.

I personally know a couple of D-1 officials, and know a little bit of the process of getting to the highest level. My friend is actually a pretty good official, but most importantly he is one of those guys that can bs his way into anything. He can fit in anywhere he goes, and can put his self into the right situations to get to where he needs to go. Anyway, the majority of these guys that make it to this level need some type of connection to move from the high school ranks to this level. It's just like the coaching profession in that if you get the right contacts you can get yourself a job. It is a very lucrative profession and these guys make a very nice 2nd income when they get to the highest level. A few of these guys are really good and get some of the better games, but in your random Saturday games you tend to get a few that are there only because of their connections. As a whole, I do think the NCAA would like good officials, but they just have too many guys that have gotten their foot in the door because of a favor.

Man this guys calls were so bad! The out bounds calls makes your head want to spin, truly awful!

I've watched quite a few games at College Station since I've been down here and have to say that it is a difficult place to play for whatever reason. Not sure if it's the shooting background or something with the rims but the Aggies always seem to find a way to hang around no matter how bad they are. They play an ugly style of slow down pace ball and I think it does throw teams off a bit. Hate to say it but under BCG they were almost impossible to beat at home. Bottom line is that it's typical to playing other SEC teams on the road.

Which one of the 3 Blind Mice called the Full Nelson foul on KAT. That was a BS call too.

Good one, lol. I don't remember this guy calling any of our games in the past. Guess someone had to take over for Karl Hess as the worst ref in college ball.

Re watch that game and tell me that Shady Shey is not on the take. And I'm being serious.

I have and Old Red is correct. Caruso foot was out of bounds before the threw it off a UK player.

Early on in the game A&M blocked Willie. The problem was they blocked his elbow instead of the ball. No foul called.

Let me ax you this, why weren't the OOB plays video reviewed? In the IU game they reviewed EVERY OOB call, at the end of the game anyway. It seems like the SEC is doing something weird with replays, they hardly ever use it. About the only things I've seen reviewed are possible flagrants once in a blue moon and a 2/3 pointer here and there, but that's about it.

Almost every block A&M got was actually a foul, they were getting all arm/hand everytime with No Call, also A&M was holding UK Players on rebounds, thus the piggyback ride Townes gave Roberson and got a double foul on.

I wish someone would go through a replay and send a tape with every BS call to SEC Office, although I suspect it would fall on blind eyes and deaf ears,it's like the SEC has an Anti-UK agenda anymore

I was wondering this myself. Those plays are reviewable, so why weren't they reviewed? I guess it's up to the discretion of the crew. That play where Caruso clearly stepped out and Brian Shey came running in, there was even a commercial break right after that, before the inbounds play. They could have reviewed that one without even causing a delay. It was cut and dry. His foot came down and then he threw it off a UK player. It would have taken about 30 seconds to look at that.

And the second one was even later in the game, but again, no review.

I thought the replay was brought in because we want to GET IT RIGHT. Yes, we hate the delays, but if it gets the call right, I'm all for it, especially in a hotly contested game.

I was screaming at the TV as well. Couldn't understand why they didn't review those two plays.

But I guarantee if there was a forearm thrown or somebody was brushed with a wrist, they would've gone to the monitor for ten minutes.

Here you go guys. Caruso was way out of bounds when he still had the ball. Drew's foot had a few inches between it and the line. The Towns pics are laughable.

If a ref or refs don't get disciplined over this game cannot see any refs job the rest of the year. One of the worst ever seen. The comment about their blocks I saw a lot of that also on replay. Obvious fouls that you see called almost a 100% of the time.

Cal said tonight if teams have to mug us they will and will do whatever they have to and hope the refs don't call it. Wonder if a game is refereed that bad do we send in a request for the head of referees to review it or do we just let it go most of the time?

Really? You know for sure that they sent those two plays in? I wish they added some more to it....

When do we play them? I can't find them on the schedule.... Vegas is a big boy, they can take care of themselves..... They might have to dig a few holes out in the desert, but you can bet it won't happen again...

Hey, what are the odds? I would say that was a good call at the time... Believe me, they will cover their bets, so that they at least come out even, or only lose half as much....
